Nice! There isn’t one of those I wouldn’t want in my stash.
Enjoy, Watto.
Postie paid a visit an hour after I got home from vacation. Since the missus is still on a vacation, these walked in through the front door
Landed yesterday.
Looks like a great kit. Looking for other finishes as the overall IJA Grey-green is a little bland. Wondering if a green mottle over the base would be possible?
Stephen, the Sally is also still on my wish list but in 1/48 and here ICM offers some different schemes …
Ki-21-Ia ‘Sally’ - ICM Holding
Maybe something also what you are thinking of.
Thanks, the 1/72 does have the same markings for the training squadron in the 1/48. They seem to have operated a mix of the 1a’s and b’s, so a green mottle isn’t out of the question.
I did see Printscales sheet earlier and that had some that are easy to replicate. One uses the same decals as on the box art (red stripes with the yellow star) in a wrap around green and brown camouflage.
If this one’s anything to go by, the 1/48 should be a very nice kit. I’m hoping that they follow up in both scales with the later version with the dorsal turret.
CAVU’s latest book has been released and delivered to my house.
I think Mason’s book are great and the best books marketed to the helo community. The DWS (belly gun) photos are worth the price alone for the V-22. The action shots of the hellhole and repelling/fast roping are great.
Nice haul! Where you moving to in Texas?
I’ll be heading down to San Antonio around mid September.

Welcome to the Lone Star State! I moved to Houston 2.5 years ago and quite enjoy Texas
huge fan of the Texas Rangers… by the way…
Tell me if you meet my Rose - her lips were warm and tender , like petals falling’ apart …
Small hall from scale hobbyist. Recently became interested in red army aviation, so decided to add a trio of early war fighters. The I-16 to me is an ugly duckling but so interesting I had to have it. I have also wanted a FW-190 for a while for the collection
The three Russian fighters were a good deal at $20 each, the Yak-1 being Accurate miniatures vintage should be a great build, and the MiG-3 should be nice easy build. I plan to do the MiG-3 in winter camo, the yak-1 in Lydia Litvyak scheme, and the I-16 in early war northern fleet navy colors (all of which are box arts schemes)
