An unusual combo today.
Both will be turned into Swiss Army vehicles.![]()
Today I received some excellent white metal figures from Gerhard Dolp - a very quick and efficient service I might add; anyway, for a Bundeswehr project I have rumbling along:
These are almost essential for any Cold War German AFVs I feel; I normally change the heads but they are getting better all the time. Within the package was a flyer advertising his latest figures, and these are:
Crew for an Iltis and some heads.
Extra figures shown with an Iltis but also useful on other vehicles I suspect.
And these fantastic figures - depicting a briefing - but useful for so much more! I’m thrilled to bits with these - they are those non-warfighting figures that are so elusive amongst manufacturers; they will enhance innumerable dioramas I am sure. Fantastic effort by Gerhard!
Only 9 Euros a pop - roughly 8 quid (8 pounds Sterling) - so what’s not to like? No excuse for not showing those Leopards, Jagdpanzers and Schützenpanzers manned now.
Nice haul. The M548 is in my stash and was going to be my next build, with the HobbyLink tank and pump set on the back.
However, the Gods of Shipping have decided that the HL set isn’t allowed out of Customs, so that project is on hold until I can find/scratch a pump unit and hose reel. I have the two 600 gal pods but want to depict a working ‘fueler.
Now those look good, I may just have to add some for my German subjects once I get around to them. For the moment it’s Japanese and Italian Cold War subjects on the bench in the form of a Type 61, Type 87-AW and a Centaruo Series 1 early.
Cheating here a bit. This is to complement my recently-arrived Elegoo Mars printer.
The “postman” will bring it tomorrow so it’s only a little cheat.
Happy with a new arrival …..
It’s been on my mind since I reported on the one I saw the day after it had been delivered to Bovi when I visited there months back. Luckily, it kit has the correct reg decals for it, so will do it in the sand and green livery as per my pictures.
Finally, I have them all.
So, figured I’d show off just a tad because it seems that both the kits are practically extinct, so I’m glad I was able to nab them!
Now, from what I’ve read and seen online, plus the little I’ve tried so far, the tracks are going to be literally hell on earth.
Hope it goes well, haha!
Nah, they clean up fairly easily, and you just need to make a jig, that will make assembly much easier than trying it without. See the bottom part of this post in your thread about the M3 medium ![]()
Hi John, that turret goes together well, and is BIG! I used one on an M60 hull seen somewhere in the desert, and have another earmarked for a Leopard 1 hull. The Chieftain leftover hull may become a driver-training wedge…
The move towards 3D printing continues.
Next thing is an extractor fan and housing to tie into the existing paint booth duct
Onward!
I think I used to have the “B-17 in action” book as a kid.
This style of idler wheel is also available from Scorpion Miniature Models, Accurate Armour (if you can find them), and a few others.
That’s the jig Takom gives you in their M3 medium tank kits to get the upper curve right, with some stuff glued to it I think? Does that work for the MiniArt tracks? Because I found that the most important thing about the jig is that it should prevent the end connectors from falling sideways, which it doesn’t look like your jig will do. But I could be wrong ![]()
Those are cool. Never saw them before. Thank you for sharing the pictures. ![]()
