How safe are those things now with all the current technology that can be deployed against air targets?
A very random assortment of accessories in multiple scales that have been arriving over the last week or so.
I cannot imagine well, probably worse then a tank in the modern battle field but both countries plan to fly the birds for another 20 plus years.
Went to the LHS yesterday to pick up a couple of packs of Evergreen Styrene tube, which I found out they had run out of. Bought this as consolation for my misery:
Talking about big vehicles…this is no slouch in that regard
Peter that is a very nice consolation prize
Personally, I like the nickname, BUFF
Big Ugly Fat Fellow/F***er
If Wikipedia is correct the B-52 will serve until the 2050’s…that’s close to 100 years.
BUFF can probably be pretty scary into 2050 will a load of hypersonic missles etc.
and its cousin the A7 Corsair II was known as SLUF Short Little Ugly … Friend
Lots of goodies posted today, looks like Christmas in July. Chis @Chris_Bryan that ZIL-131 is awesome! And a Bear in the air from your bud, too cool.
Peter @petbat , I first saw the Namer a couple months ago, it is massive for a troop carrier, definately a shelf hawg.

“We do a little probing of response times”
My contribution to this thread is quite poor because I have far more flying stuff in my stash than armor but yesterday we had our club meeting at our hobby shop. The owner is also a member of our club. I have ordered the kit of the Bundeswehr Feldumschlaggerät FUG already in April but it was temporarily unavailable. This week it arrived as a DualCombo with the VW Transporter T3. I paid 50 €uros for both kits in the box. If you consider that the T3 is around 30-35 €uros and the FUG is about 40-45 €uros if you buy them solo, this is really a bargain …
I never had the intension to buy the T3 but if I can get it that cheap …
… okay, and than I found also this kit in my bag when I came home …
I always have a soft spot for the military MAN trucks, as I drove a MAN 5 to gl during my army time in the 1980’s, so it was no question to get this MAN 7 to gl Dreiseitenkipper (dump truck). At the moment they are heavily in use at the flood catastrophy in the western part of Germany …
I’m planning to get the FUG on my bench still this year, but I have to look if I can find photos of it in ISAF GECON Umtarnfarben. Otherwise it will just become plain NATO Green.

The T3 and FUG kit is somewhat interesting to me. I could do a diorama of the FUG about to dump the T3 in a pit to show my disdain for the water-cooled transporters. Air-cooled rules.
Do a civil version of the T3 fork lifted by the FUG with a Leopard 2 waiting in the background with a roaring engine …
Nice haul.
I almost got the combo kit but I already have the single Fug kit. I do like the 7t dump, probably a nicer build then my Revell 5t but they haven’t made it this part of the world.
I’ve got two of those T3’s (a van and a pickup) in my stash; I was stationed in Augsburg Germany in the mid 80’s and we had a bunch of those vans for the Field Station. Of course, I’d love to see any of the multiple different tour busses the Army contracted to haul us to work every day and night, but alas no.
Coincidentally, I saw last week a Revell Honest John on a shop. 1/54 scale!

If you have access to a 3D printer, you may check this:
They sell the design pretty cheap, you can print as many as you want and it should be much easier to build than photoetch…
I have a hope that someone like AFV Club will bring out a 1:35 Honest John - perhaps just a dream(!)
The Monogram Little John is often cited as 1:40 but is in fact I believe 1:35; in any case, I will build it and try and get the best from it.
I may need some help here once I start - there doesn’t seem to be that much on the www, however, any pointers always welcome.
