Which T-90?

Can anyone identify which model of T-90 this is from the illustration?

That is Vespid’s version of the T90 mod 1992- the original iteration with the cast turret.

Yeah, but is there any letter designation after “T-90”, ie; A, B, C, etc.?

It is the T90 with no follow on letter.
The T90A and the T90M have an angular welded turret
The T90 has a cast turret like the T72.

Usually to differentiate it’s called the T-90 Mod.1992.

Yup. Pretty much a straight up T90. Meng kit would be my recommendation.

Thanks…if I wanted one in 1/35. I have the 1/72 by Vespid shown above.

I built Meng’s T-90A many years ago, and was quite pleased with it. If their T-90 has the same workable tracks as their T-90A did, with the rubber ends and snap together guide horns I’d go for that. They’re probably the easiest tracks I’ve ever built and are almost a joy to put together.

I built the Meng T-90A as well… It was a cheap, partially built kit, but it was a very enjoyable build for me, from start to finish.

I also have two of Meng’s T-72B variants; the T-72B3 and T-72B3M with mine rake. They will most likely assemble just as pleasantly as the T-90A. Maybe I’ll try to try my hand at the Tiger Model T-90M 2017-2021.

Good luck with the kit. I’ve built a couple of vespid kits myself. there’s good points and bad points but mostly they’re an enjoyable build.

I’ve built several myself, too. They’re as nice as Flyhawk. The thing I like best about these kits is that they include all necessary (and sometimes unnecessary) PE! But, if 1/72 is your thing, then these are the kits to get - and Border is very good, too!

Has the “old” T-72 exhaust as well. The Meng T-90A and late T-90’s had the “ant eater” exhaust.
