Skip to 1:43. The whole thing is silly fun, but the first bit is just plain dumb.
As a guitarist who plays (attempts) both classic and electric guitar, I’m amused by your statement. I know electric players who play remarkable classical guitar, but oddly, it’s rarely seen the other way around.
I’m working on it
Abruptly waiting on a display shelf to get delivered… So I know what scales I’m wanting to use. The CH-53 is already going to be a very tight fit
What’s that tanish, yellowish expanse above your kits? I’m sure I’ve seen a whiter version of that in my own hobby room at some point in time but I don’t really remember when. I asked my wife and she said,“Oh yeah, you don’t have that.” Where did you get it? Is it available at my local hobby shop? Maybe on line? Is it scratch built? I could really use one of those and I’m certain any number of other members here would appreciate having something similar. Please, don’t keep it to yourself, share!
I’m right there with you mate, I have a late 60’s SG Standard and a 50th Anniversary Lone Star Fender Strat on the electric side, a Maton CW80, a Yamaha 12-string and a Sakura Dobro on the acoustic side, along with a Hondo Explorer Bass and a couple of old Nylon-strings for variety. Blues, Southern Rock and classic heavy metal always filling the air at bench time
Like the age of your SG! I have a bead on a 50th Anniversary SG, and just happen to have a set of John Birch P90’s (Simplux 2 and Superflux 2)that would go beautifully in it. Channel my inner Tony Iommi.
In the stable; 1973 Fender Tele, 1983 Squier Bullet HH-2 (highly modified), 2006 G&L Legacy (modified), 2010 Gibson Firebird, 2018 Squier Jazz (highly modified) on electric avenue. The acoustics; 1980 Martin D-28, 2012 Yamaha AC3R, 1981 Fender F-75.
The HH2. Seymour Duncan Antiquities; bridge 53, neck 59 PAF (push button puts it out of phase). I was going for a Keith Richards rip-off Macawber. It is an open G beast! My friend who is a master guitar tech re-built this from a box of parts in 2013 (me and this guitar have a long history).
My six string stash is: a '97 (USA) Strat with SD Classic Stack Noisless pickups, a 1981 Marc Beneteau (my steel string since 1981), a '97 Ramirez R2 (got a great deal on a used one) and my guilty pleasure, a 2010 Gibson Explorer. Ya, I know, but it’s an Explorer! Yes, I’m a die hard Strat lover, but Explorers make me weak in the knees.
I love Explorers! It was either an Explorer or Firebird, the sunburst Firebird won. I’m a huge Allen Collins fan and he played both.
I dropped a John Birch Simplux 2 in the bridge of the Firebird, but I’m not overly happy with it in that guitar (the other JB is in the neck of my G&L). I have a guy that winds pickups (same guy with the 50th Anniversary SG) so I will have him wind me a P90 some day. Modelling is eating up the free cash, haha.
Very spectacular on the Marc Benetau, they are a piece of art unto their own. I would love to play one of his guitars one day. We have some wicked guitar builders up North like, Boucher! There’s a guy on the south shore of NS that does some (for Keith Richards) but I can’t remember his name.
I bought the Beneteau back in the early 80’s. Worked my ass off to save up for it. They were pricey back then, but in reach. I could not possibly afford one today.
Firebirds…mmmmmm. I like the ones with the “banjo” tuners. Not a fan of the years they put regular tuners on. Unless I’m thinking of something else…?
Life’s choices:
oooo, the new ____ kit is out… and it’s only $XXX.xx
Aaaaahhh, _____ just released a new pedal ----Nope, too broke for either.
Two musician jokes.
How do you get a guitar player to shut up?
Put sheet music in front of him.
French horns players are great kissers.
But they sure hold you funny.
