Willys Jeep Tamiya 1/35 (Normandy '44)

As soon as I finish my other “jeeps”, I will start this beauty from Tamiya with some 3D printed and resin additions. I found nice Firestone wheels for the kit from Cults3D, which I will print. Also will ad my recent .50cal print.

I hope you will point me what can be improved with the kit too :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers!

The kit is pretty good out of the box with nothing really needing to be “fixed”. You can always add details though. It is missing straps and retaining clips on the tools, the engine can be plumbed and wired, there are no brake and clutch pedals, etc., etc., etc…

No clips for the hood and windscreen.

Which time frame are you modeling? Early versions did not have the wiper motors that Tamiya includes in the kit. For up until 1943 just remove the motors and add hand levers.
For around 1944 you can add a connecting rod so one person could operate both wipers.
For '44-'45 the vacuum motors appeared. They just need a vacuum hose to complete them.
It also matters who is going to be using the Jeep. Airborne units typically removed parts and changed tool stowage locations. See this recent thread, complete with clever editing.

Sorry for not mentioning, it is for the Airborne figures I painted, but decided to make a separate topic for the vehicle. It is Normandy 44.

Ah. The motors are good for that time,
I just noticed you started that thread.

No worries, I just corrected the title to be more clear.
