Wish List of 2025 (armor kits)

I doubt Tamiya would do a Sdkfz 232 6 Rad; don’t they re-box an ancient Italaeri one in some markets? The Sdkfz 250/9 Neu was issued by Dragon some time ago, I have one in my stash. I also think that there is a more recent Flakvierling somewhere.
My personal list is short and 1/35th:

Hello I would hope for the following

  1. A complete line of LVT’s 1/35 scale
  2. A new tooled USMC AAV-7A1 1/35 scale
  3. USMC 1/35 scale Amphibious combat vehicle
  4. A new M-8 HMC tank 1/35 scale
  5. A M-46 tank 1/35 scale

I could throw a few dozen or so out there. these 5 would do nicely

@Tank_1812 Vargas Scale Models recently released a very nice M1917 6-ton tank. It ticks all of the boxes on differences from the Renault FT and is well printed. The kit can also be built as an FTS signal tank. The FTS does have the French antenna vs the US one. I have the FTS base coated and the M1917 in primer.

Thanks for the information. Tempting, my user experience has been different than the exceptional models you are posting. Maybe a one off experience. Course my options are that or gambling on FCModel at this time.

@Tank_1812 I have the FCModel trends conversion kit for the Meng FT. I decided to build the Vargas kit as it is much more accurate and better printed. I liked enough to buy a second Vargas M1917 to build the FTS signal version.

Duly noted. I will look into purchasing later this year.

I’m still trying to fill holes in my 1:35 US Field Artillery collection. I’m slowly filling the gaps. Most of the remaining gaps are in the WW1 and early Cold War periods. I prefer styrene but am comfortable with 3D printed or cast resin.

  • M44 155mm Howitzer Motor Carriage (US cold war) - 1:35 - no kit available in any media.
  • M1 8-Inch Gun (US WW2) - 1:35 - no kit available in any media. Zimi announced one but I haven’t seen anything since.
  • M1 240mm Howitzer “Black Dragon” (US WW2 & Korea) - 1:35 - no kit available in any media. Also announced by Zimi.
  • M1906 4.7-Inch Gun (US WW1) - 1:35 - no kit available in any media
  • M1902 3-Inch Gun (US WW1) - 1:35 - no kit available in any media

I’ll pour libations to the modeling gods this evening.

Heya, Folks!

In 35th scale (unless noted) styrene , I’d like to see:

  1. Marine LVTE-1 (heya AFV Club, still waiting).
  2. Marine M51 tank retriever (Takom).
  3. British Army Saracen armored car
  4. Army ACV hovercraft (Gekko, of course).
  5. Jawa Sandcrawler (it is a tank, after all; model not too big, but not too small).
  6. AFV Club re-releasing their LVTP-5 and LVTH-6 with interiors…in styrene, of course. Yeah, a pipe dream, I know…but it sure would be great to be able to model these beasts with the ramps down and not have to deal with resin.

We shall see what 2025 yields!!

Happy New Year!!!

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

Most of my 1/35 wish list items are already met. I’ll vote for:

  1. 1/35 Challenger 1 Op. Granby

…even though Trumpeter have already announced it for 2025, just because it should’ve been done by at least three manufacturers by now to replace the one Tamiya released over thirty years ago.

Also:

  1. A new-tool 1/35 M1/M1IP to replace the badly-researched Panda kits.

Otherwise most of my wants are in Braille Scale:

  1. 1/72 Modern US medium trucks (M939 family, FMTVs, MTVRs)
  2. 1/72 MRAPs (RG-33, Caiman)
  3. 1/72 M88 of any version.

those would be neat; don’t think I’ve seen any of them in any scale

Not quite armour but I’d like to see some new 1/35 late interwar softskins such as a Citroen Type 23.

Basically vehicles that could be shown as civilian, serving various European military forces or pressed into German service.

ICM would be the most obvious candidate given their history, although personally I’d prefer Tamiya.
