Wish List of 2025 (armor kits)

OK, this is the last day of 2024 or it’s already Jan. 1, 2025 in some parts of the world. So let’s start a new thread. As before, could you please limit your wish to the top 5 model kits in the “armor/afv” or military vehicle category?

Here are mine to start off - not much change from my '24 wish unfortunately:

  1. Newly tooled US M106 mortar carrier or the current M1064 mortar carrier.

  2. M1068 SICPS command vehicle - something more modern than Tamiya’s M577 please.

  3. US M88A2 recovery vehicle “Hercules” in polystyrene

  4. M60 “Slick” - something better than the mediocre Dragon’s kit.

  5. M48 tank with the OG Chrysler cupola:

I really don’t have anything armor-wise. I set out to get one of every production vehicle in the Encyclopedia of German Armor by Jentz and Doyle and am now shy by about 20 or so vehicles, most of which are just variants of kits already available that I could easily scratch into the ones I still need.

A munitionsschlepper for the Pz 38(t) is basically the tank without a turret more or less. I don’t need a whole new kit for that.

Maybe a few in my stash could use an update/new tooling, but overall I am actually good.

My list is probably a little obscure:

LG1 105mm Howitzer
Caesar 155mm Howitzer
Cymbeline radar (trailer mounted)
M240 240mm Russian towed mortar
Unimog U1700 truck

I won’t hold my breath…

I wish I have been granted a new (and extra) year and some more after to live and build as much modelkits from my stash as possible.

I guess that would start with one of the worst mistakes - the dimensions of the track.

Yeah. I was really bummed back in 2012 when Cookie Sewell reported that little error. A more accurate model would have pulled me out of a then two year slump that ultimately lasted 12 years. Every so often I consider purchasing one, or the Accurate Armor version. Not sure why I care at this point, but I do.

Give it a little more time.

Just an HS-30 Kurz & Lang in styrene.

A new AMX-VCI wouldn’t be bad either.

Damon.

Kinda weird. I want the first three kits @Petition2God wished for. I can wait for the M60 slick and the OG M48; but I’ve always wanted the M106 to be reissued in its most current form (M1064A3).

I wish for a 100 mm MT-12 Panzerabwehrkanone for my GDR NVA Panzerjäger.

I get me the NVA Dienstvorschrift for the gun and see if it could be build from scratch.
