Yeovil (UK) Model Show, Sunday 27th October

Just a reminder to anyone in South West UK that this is one, this coming Sunday:

It’s usually a great show. I hope to spend a couple of hours there myself.

Will we see Stonehenge modellers there Brian @BootsDMS ?

A pass for us I’m afraid Terry; we’ve decide on only 1 x Yeovil per year now, so Abingdon was our last for this year. We hope to attend tYeovil’s show next April though.

The good news is, well, for us at least, is we hope to attend the IPMS Beglium thrash - “Plastic & Steel” - next year. We’ve been absent for the last 2 years due to their dates changing, but we’re sort off back on track with them now; whilst the location has changed, it’s guaranteed to be a good run ashore as well as a great show.

I know what you mean wrt being selective on shows. There are so many in the UK these days (even down in the South West) and given that Yeovil and Bovvy now have an Autumn and a Spring show each, it’s a challenge. I decided not to display at Yeovil, and also, for the first time in years, I’m not displaying at SMW 2024 (Telford) although I am attending as we are staying with friends in Ludlow that weekend. Also, given my Tank Museum commitment, I display there “weekly” during any school holidays. I was in fact there today, and will be next Friday too, as it’s half term again. The IPMS Belgium bash sounds good. Will have to look that one up and see if I can schedule that in for the first time ever.

Not there this year as I couldn’t get the time off work, but we (Kitmaker British Bulldogs) are doing the other Yeovil show on 1st December.
We also did the Barnstaple show in August, that’s a nice show and being in August the weather should be nice around the coast for a stay over for the weekend.

Not sure what that show is?

I love how there are still people who claim model-building is dying but we do seem to still have plenty of shows. Same people who keep saying PC gaming is dead and yet I’m still playing two decades later.
