Border Models has provided a glimpse of their forthcoming release of the 1:35 scale Mitsubishi A6M Zero
Very welcome. I shall be getting one. Not much of a surprise given the Akagi deck. How long till we get a Mustang or Thunderbolt or Me 262.
I suppose a Val can’t be far behind. I must say I am a little baffled by the scale shift to 1/35 . I get it with helicopters and to a lesser degree land based aircraft so they are compatible with 1/35/vehicles- but a Japanese carrier ? Still glad to see more Japanese subjects though.
Wonderful news that Border is expanding the range of popular aircraft in the predominate ‘military’ scale.
After the Guadalcanal carrier battles, 1943 saw IJNAF reinforcing Rabaul and Solomons bases - and central Pacific garrisons - with carrier planes. Not all were shredded wrecks when the Allies captured an area. These models afford diorama potential for Japanese or Allied figures and ground vehicles with the aircraft.
