Today a new model in 1:35 scale, it is a vehicle of the Soviet Army’s air defense system, which was developed at the same time as the ZSU 23-4 Shilka. It is unclear to what extent this vehicle was used in military service. Testing began around the beginning of the 1960s. It is a rare vehicle, so here are a few pictures of the original vehicle. The model was built a few years ago in Skratch using some Trumpeter kits. As always, metal tracks from Friul were used.
Unfortunately I forgot to answer your question, sorry. Yes, I used the Trumpeter 2S3 kit for this model. I needed two kits to build the tank hull. The problem was the arrangement of the road wheels and the bearings of the swing arms. My tank hull consists of several sections. So that you can see that, I’ll post a few pictures of the construction of the model.
For model builders who might be interested in building a replica of the model, I have looked for pictures of the construction. Incidentally, the original vehicle is not in any army museum.
