Made an error. I put the two halves of the doors together with the clear parts in but didn’t paint the insides of the door halves. You will see the original color plastic in between the door halves UGHHHH!!! It’s too late to pop the door halves apart. Call it an almost senior moment as I am not yet classified as a senior, but getting close.
Carefully swap some liquid cement in the joint and attempt to pry apart with chisel blade. Keep adding cement. With luck they’ll come apart, assuming you used the minimum amount required to begin with.
I am behind in posting. Unfortunately, I already painted the doors. This is where I am at right now. In the second photo I still need to peel off the rest of the masks. The tape broke off while removing it. You can also see the original color plastic through the clear parts.
Test fitting the Live Resin MCTAGS turret. The turret ring on the Bronco kit is slightly too small so needs to be enlarged to fit the Live Resin parts. The Bronco roof is also warped.
Yes, the kit’s OGPK turret was usable but I am making this Bronco M1114 into a USMC vehicle and using the Live Resin MCTAGS turret. Here is the kit’s original OGPK turret.
Nice work so far, I have to get one of these, I do not think I have a Hummer in the stash! The live resin turret looks great.
Is the kit supplied turret a US Army version?
Working on an Academy M1151 at the same time. This one will be in the NATO camo though and also fitting a Live Resin MCTAGS turret. Got the parts clipped off, cleaned up and laid out ready for assembly.
Nice! I have a couple of them and the Ibis-Tek bumper. I am using them on a different Academy M1151. Something similar to the one in the last photo. I don’t have that specific clear shield so will use the kit shield instead.
