What happened to primeportal and hmmwvinscale?! I can’t seem to find any decent walkarounds or interior shots

Their site has been acting wierdly for years. On many of the walk arounds you can see the thumbnails but when you click on them they don’t enlarge Others are fine.

I may have some vanilla HMMVW photos. I have to wait for data to be transferred from old hard drive.

Thanks for the pics! This is a great starting point…

question i don’t know what these are called, maybe tie down points? Are they black or green?

I would just call them storage racks, to keep the ammo boxes from sliding around. And yes, they do have tie down points for straps.

Those are the ammo racks for the 40mm ammo cans (if you choose to put the Mk-19 on the turret).

The kit for not come with enough ammo cans to fill the rack up, so you’ll need the accessory set to get the ammo.

Or…

I don’t have any of my kits at home to check the decal sheets. So, do any of you guys know if any kit has included these placards as decals? If not, what’s the best option.

There are HO scale rolling stock data sheets that work well for that, provided you don’t want to get out magnifying glass and read them.
I will see if I can dig them up tomorrow, although my mobility is somewhat limited at the moment.
This is but one example:

There’s also this, although availability may be limited:

You can obviously do more vehicles with a railroad set.

The Tamiya kit has some but not all placards.

Here is the decal sheet that came with the kit

Thanks guys. Looks like Tamiya get you by with just enough to make it look busy but I like Robs idea of looking into HO railroad decals. I forgot about Archer dry transfers.

I am in need of more photos…
Drivers floor and under the seat
Interior side of rear hatch door
Interior photos of the stowage area in the Back

What kind of stowage/ personal items/ energy drinks was used back in the mid 90’s

Thanks!

I don’t remember seeing any energy drinks like Red Bull until the late 90’s… Gatorade was pretty common though. Rucks would be common gear, along with LBE/LBV. Most guys liked the LBEs but I preferred the LBV. Personal items would be some sort of music device and reading materials…. and of course issued weapons

Cases of water, couple cases of Coke or Pepsi, Gatorade, MRE boxes, rucksacks, a boombox, couple Playboys.

That should cover that nicely.

SINCGARS

In French’s post above, the first SINCGARS (ICOM) is the type that were first fielded in the mid-late '90s. The second pic with the smaller (1/2 sized) radios are the ASIP version that were not fielded until the early 2000s.

Thanks for the photos and info! Now i finally got enough info to get some momentum on this project …
One last question, is the roof black or green? It shows a black fabric in Rob’s pictures that he posted but I’m also seeing just NATO green metal in others… Is there a reason why some humvees get fabric and others don’t?

Some photos are of later up-armored variants - different from what you’re doing.
