1/35 m1167 tow

What color are these handle things… brass?

Got some updates! Interior is almost wrapped up!

Where these ever deployed in a war zone? I don’t even know how to weather the inside… any suggestions?

This might be a stupid question but can fuel cans be stowed laying down like this?

If the lid is screwed on tight? Yeah. Space is very limited inside the M1167, so you’d store it however you could.

BFT screen…?
It looks good, but are you aware that the BFT system has other elements missing from the Academy kit?

Love the cable details on the SINCGARS radio system. How did you replicate thf lociing mechanism for thd partition doors? Very nicely detailed.

There should also be two large fire extinguishers - the second in the trunk

They were deployed to Iraq; so you can just weather it with dust effects; everything inside our vehicles was covered in dust, you can use Africa Dust Effects wash and/or Light Dust Pigments from AK Interactive; or just use pastel chalk to dust everything inside.

The first one is on a rack by the driver’s seat floor, next to the door. The second one is on the right side of the rear partition. The kit comes with the parts, but no instructions on how to install the nozzle to the fire extinguisher.

i know i kinda forgot about the screen cause im trying to make my own decal for it… which is not working :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: the damn ink keeps getting smeared sideways! Am i missing anything else?

About the extinguisher… check out his scratch build… im finally f’n learning!

I’m using the extinguisher from the kit for the interior cause is the most exposed. And i completely omitted the extinguisher from the drivers side cause it is completely buried by the door

Im trying to figure out what kind of marks/ insignia to give it… i leaning towards a fictional setting since i don’t think none of these have seen combat… If anybody has and ideas or suggestions that would be awesome!

I think the bulk of decals will be standard, such as the TIE DOWN placards under the headlights, the DO NOT STEP warning placards, tire pressure marks on the fenders, etc… You could skip the unit-specific marking, as to pretend that the vehicle was picked up from a prepositioned stock yard. That’s how most units picked up their equipment once they got into theater during OIF; we have thousands of vehicles in these yards in Kuwait and we have personnel in these APS sites that keep everything maintained and ready to go.

SO just focus on the vehicle-specific decals and forego the unit ones. Make the vehicle a generic one.

Not by US forces, but they are in Ukraine.

Project is back on! I got a printer that can print decals without smearing the ink! I made some decals for the missile tubes… let me know how it looks, i know the red is the wrong color but what about the placement of the stripes
