I’m getting ready to tackle this same kit as the 1940 configuration of HMS Eskimo at Narvik.
AJ, brace yourself, because this kit isn’t shake n bake, to say the least…
The final stages to leveling up the deck to be flush…
Next step is to move onto the bow and stern to correct the hull shapes there…
Hello Russell,
I’ve been following this build with much interest, as I have the HURON (same kit) to do in my stash. Would you be able to do a set of funnels for me as well? If so, let me know the cost.
Sincerely,
Chris Preston

I’m in for a set of funnels if you make more!
Ok, who else would like a set?
I’m thinking I’ll get a test print run off to check the fit etc first, give you all a look at them, then work out if any changes are required, then put in a bulk order…
Let me know if you’re ok with that plan…
I’m interested in a set
I can’t help thinking, wouldn’t it have been easier to make a copy of that deck using plasticard?
'Morning Russell,
Works for me, and - Many Thanks for this.
Cheers,
Chris
Yes, that would have been my preferred option, but since it was already glued in I had to find a way to work with it that didn’t involve tearing the model apart
I see …
Hi Russ,
Nice job correcting the deck, hope the funnels come out well.
Cheers, Si
Nice precise work sorting the deck out. Looks good.
Wow, Russell.
With your meticulous and precise work you will conjure up an excellent model from this inadequate kit.
Hello Russell,
So - what’s the cost for a funnel set, and how would you like payment
Hi Chris
See the PM I sent you
I should have samples in hand this week
Hi Russell,
Excellent – SOLD! Looking forward to seeing them. Let me know how you’d like payment, etc.
Cheers,
Chris
Hi Russ,
good to see this one on the move again! Great work mate!
With all the necessary work…somehow…gives me to think whether at all I will start that kit sometime, or resort to the better (and more expensive) alternative…
You’ll build here into a proper Tribal, for sure!
Cheers
Jan
I hear ya, mate.
If I didn’t already have the kit in the stash and a heap of aftermarket for it, I would go the resin kit from Atlantic.
Hence why my motto these last few years has been
"No more additions to the stash.
Only purchase a kit when ready to build it.
And research, research, research first!!!
