1/72 A4 Base (2021)

I promised crude… And I always try to deliver lol…

But hopefully you can see the basic concept I have in my mind.

Thread paper would be the garden bunker with roof. The sides will be more sloped and the front a bit more angled towards the roof.
The shaded part on the roof I was thinking of cutting out to allow for a better view into the bunker, but the cutaways would be painted red to it’s an obvious cutaway. And the open side and end would stay open.

And I have also thrown in a mock up of the KT side and cam net theme… Again sides and the end would be left open. I was thinking more of a cam net for this side as the radar tracker would only lower so far, and a cam net would be easier to conceal it. ??

That explains every thing John! Very cool, you will have a lot of fun building that one:) /Erik

Got round to adding some of the what will be harden bunker concrete side and floor.
The Flak40 will be a full bunker with reinforced concrete floor, sides and roof.

Tracking array KT will just a partial reinforced concrete wall and 2 raised concreted plinths that the tracks stay on when in the hide.

Both have concrete beams on the slope exit to assist with track grip.
I know need to think about concrete colours and mixing them.

Let’s get cracking with my U-Boat.

Was very impressed with the slide moulding on all the railings. Yes, etch would be nicer and more in scale, but I have to give Hobbyboss credit for for trying. Should look effective when it’s painted up.

Hey great you’ve managed to get started Stephen. Really looking forward to watching this and how this water you’ve been teasing us with is going to look. :+1:

I’m just hoping it works out as planned. Did the last few times, so fingers crossed.

Only trouble I’m having is finding a decent frame to put it in. Found a few A4 photo frames but they’re flimsy plastic. I need a good one with a wooden back to hold the wire for the Liberator.

I just got a couple from the range for 2.99, black surrounds and a thick cardboard backing. At that scale you’re working with they may be worth a look.

Thanks, I’ll remember that if we go.
I’m going to have a look in Asda at the weekend. Hopefully they’ll have something.

Just a quick update and a few pics of the E100 Flak40 from its build blog.

It’s almost finished on the build front, then onto painting it…

It’s had a fair bit done and I’m quite happy with how it looks.

Hi all,

Not been around here for a few weeks, but some great progress from @Johnnych01, really liking the way the base is shaping up, and that flak wagon is a great bit of kit, :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:

Very impressed with the detail on the detail of the U-boats @phantom_phanatic, especially the conning towers, though a tad too small for my stumpy fingers,.

Gil, nice countryside scenery, and your two vehicles look great, :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:. Whose figures did you use for the figures, they look to be a mix of manufacturers, but look great, :slightly_smiling_face:.

Cheers,,

Hi all,

Managed to get a few hours in yesterday as the cold…ish weather drove me indoors, so decided to cobble together some rough approximations of furniture for the inside of the house, two beds, a table and trestle seat, and a fire basket for the fire. They need painting, as does the interior, I also need to add curtains and various bits-and-bobs.

Cheers,,
