Tornado Gr1 and SEPECAT Jaguar?
Both. And a Buccaneer! I’ve got a French Jag A somewhere as well with Gulf markings.
How about a Grail Kit Campaign?
we all have grail kits that we managed to acquire so why not build them!
What does a grail kit mean?
as in holy grail. the kit you have been searching for, for a long time.
Okay, thanks. That’s what I thought but wondered if it was some scale-modeling jargon here.
I haven’t found my grail kit yet ![]()
I have my grail kit in the stash.
Hard to decide for modellers who consider all their kits as grail.![]()
Now I’m wondering what my grail kit would be… the 1/32 Scania with trailer from Orlondoo Hunter is a good candidate, but it’s quite the expense…
I think a “Grail Kit” campaign was proposed years ago, but it never got started. I’m for it.
I thought a “Grail Kit” was a kit that was so precious, or expensive, or complex, or extremely rare (OOP, one-of-a-kind, or limited edition) that the modeler who has it in the stash doesn’t want to start it for fear of messing it up. I didn’t think a “Grail Kit” was a kit that the modeler spent a lot of time searching for.
Maybe a campaign that involves the kit box.
A Holy Grail campaign would be fun just for the opportunity to earn a Monty Python themed campaign medal. Tom (barkingdigger) nailed it with the movie clip he linked.
If Holy Grail is the kit you own that is too precious to start, I have a Hasegawa 1/32 Stuka Tank Buster with about $150 of upgrades. I will never build it and plan to sell the lot.
If Holy Grail is the kit you always wanted but never thought would happen, I have a Border 1/35 Stuka Tank Buster. I will crash and burn on that one, mostly because of the canopy framing.
If Holy Grail is the kit you always wanted but does not exist, it is an American T28 in 1/35. The Dragon kit does not count.
I would relax the rules a bit and make it A Holy Grail kit rather than THE Holy Grail kit. We all have a few of those.
The trouble with Holy Grails is the quest to find them… ![]()
I think most of them are in @SSGToms stash….
They are! I have them all! Moohahaha!
Looks like there is a lot of interest in this. Are you going to put up a separate campaign thread for it?
- Ragtop campaign, only vehicles with a canvas top can be built, super large selection but still a specific requirement. Top has to be up though..
I like the ODS idea as well
I’ll create a thread and float it in the next few days. Might open it to part-built models too, in case there are old shelf queens that would encourage more participation!
I created a thread for the 1916 campaign, but despite the idea getting 8 likes here, only two people have signed up as “going”? Is this an idea that has failed?…
