3D printing some FPV UAV drones from CULTS3D

Wanted to share some 3D printed drones. Hope this topic location will free up James Lees 3D topic that I have been crowding  The files are not my own but come from CULTS3D.

The FPV is what first caught my eye.
On CULTS3D there is Kamikaze FPV drone 1:35 (First person view) RPG Grenade, FPV Drohne by AG87

My attempt was

Making rafts of 6 little drones at a time takes less than an hour to print. Scaled up the Z direction by 20% to get arms and some propellers. The painting and weathering based on Youtube videos was fun.

Add some supports and formation creations open up interesting possibilities.

1/35 scale PSP controllers and crew staff are next.

Likely controllers are available on CULTS. The Playstation 3, the SWITCH, and the PSP controller all offered by zjjj927. These are easily scaled down from his original 1/24 scale to 1/35 scale for printing.

The initial printed parts in scale look good. Sorry for the poor pictures but future paint will pull out these details.

More to come.

Sprank Drone (race drone with cam gimbal) ](🏎️ Sprank Drone (race drone with cam gimbal)・Free STL File for ・Cults) by mwilmars printed. Honestly gave mixed results but in fairness, I scaled his original model file down to 3%. 3% gets roughly the 1/35 scale print. 3% and things like the landing skids and props got sketchy.

More things to try before moving on to another possibliity

Found 1/35 Scale DJI mavic 3 from Russo Ukraine war by “ModernModeler”

These are equally tiny and I can not get my printer to support the propellers but they look to be scale.

I like this suggestion by 18 BRAVO. Rob said:

So I started playing for a minute

and if you use the right glass, the edges are not much of an issue.

I had some microscope slide covers to play with

I don’t know if this would lead to anything useful, but some ideas to kick around.

I think this is a great idea to consider, Stuart.

Yes. Thank you. Just to be clear (see what I did there? LOL) the micro scope cover slides shown are a very brittle thin glass material that shatters easily. I could envision clear plastic styrene sheet punched out as small disks to stand in for the static drone props. The drone static props are part of the STL file but are beyond my resin 3D printing capabilities. Much ahead to try!

They also make plastic coverslips. I teach middle schoolers and that’s all I will use.

Will look at those also. Thanks for the link

for controllers most of them are using Radio Master TX-16S II or MAX II, seen a couple RM boxers for everything non DJI. DJI airframes they are using the standard or PRO Mavic 3 controller. the only difference between the two is one has a screen the other doesn’t. Regardless of the controller they all fly under goggles. so screen or no screen is irrelevant.

Thanks Mike. That is helpful insight. This same @ModernModeler
(All the 3D models of ModernModeler・Cults) offers the DJI helmet.

My attempts at the goggles so far

correct. just a random tidbit of info. when you watch a video of those guys and you see the controller you posted its the TX16S MkII. if the gimbal plates (controller sticks) are a different color its the MAX version which uses ELRS.

Express LRS Nomad?

Great break down of a 17 quad copter swarm attack on oil storage tanks.

i have seen the RANGER module used on their controllers. I haven’t seen the NOMAD module yet. At scale i think you wouldn’t be able to tell a difference between the two.
