Sheridan basket in 1/35 3D print success!!
Should look better after UV curing tomorrow. Removing the supports would not be too fun however.
Some other prints today. M60A1 105mm and M48A3 90mm:

Supports removed and UV cured Sheridan extended basket. Managed to save hundreds of mesh patterns except for 1!
Tried to super glue them back and didn’t turn out perfect. O, well…
Anyway, I’ve printed 3 more and they should be ready for purchase.
And here’s where to attach to the Tamiya turret:
I’ve marked in red the basket’s attaching arms and attachment points approximately where they should meet:
This is someone else’s photos for your reference - educational purposes only. This 1/16 scratch-built basket photos should give you an idea how the basket attaches:

Most of you in Armorama probably don’t need this info but for those not familiar with Sheridan.

looks great I’m excited to receive them.
US tank track jack CAD done! Looks like this sort of jack was used on M4 Shermans all the way up to M48 Pattons. Or were they different? Can anyone confirm?
This is going to be small in 1/35, and a lot of the details won’t show up in 3D print, however. Probably better for 1/16 scale.

OK, added some finishing touches and small tweaks based on some feedback. These are heading to my 3D printer tonight.
There should be a pair - one for the right side tracks and another for the left side.
Uploading them to my cults3d page soon.
Kind regards,
James

Thank you James! Using your Cults3d page today with my new Anycubic Photon Mono 2 to make your Abrams drive sprockets. You make good stuff. So much to learn!

Thank you, Stuart @amoz02t ! Btw, if you want to buy my STLs, you can contact me directly for downloads b/c Cults3D gets a 20% cut and takes 1+ month to get paid. It’s really for non-Armorama and international modelers who don’t have a direct contact with me.

Will do my friend. Thank you!

3D printed the track jacks, and the details are remarkable in my view.
1/16:
Here’s 1/35, which is tiny (1.7cm in length) so the details are not as obvious:
Next to 1/16 scale:
Some damage from the support removal:
I may revise the CAD to depict later versions for M60 tanks but depending on the demand I may not:

Those track crackers look really good, but are you intending to do the simpler version too - Fixture, track Connecting 41-F-2995-165 - issued for M41 & other light vehicles?
I’d really like a couple of sets in 1/16th.
A couple of pics from TM 9-2350-201-12 - the M41 manual.

I read the conversation you had on FB about the track jacks. They were used from HVSS Shermans up to M48A3 tanks. Then the newer/improved type was issued.
The exception were the early M-26 Pershings that had the T-80 track and used a different type of jack.
Right. That’s what I wrote. Thanks for agreeing with me, Nikos. ![ ](https://forums.kitmaker.net/images/emoji/google/slight_smile.png?v=12)
Another one of those FB folks who wants to be an “expert” and calls me wrong. O, well…

Hi Malcolm,
Is this close to what it looks like?
Can you post some more photos to get a better idea? What are the dimensions?
You’ll need to help me with some data to help you out. I have never seen that thing until now.

Yep those look pretty good, though the internal part of the hook is more straight up & down, rather than angled.
I was sure I had a bunch of pics, but haven’t found much as yet, just some for M113.
Don’t have any dimensions beyond the Figure 258 drawing above, straight edge is 18 inch.
I’ll keep searching

Hi Mal,
OK, so this photo gives me a better idea of what the “hook” or “horn” looks like. Do you have more photos of whatever that is called?
![image](https://forums.kitmaker.net/uploads/default/original/3X/9/0/906b0c632803e568d7f9cd6dc26ed03c104bf5bd.jpeg)
At the same time, the shape of the body looks different in those photos. I am seeing at least 3 different shapes. Which one is it? Or are there different versions?
- These look hexagonal:
- Then these look more round cylindrical:
![image](https://forums.kitmaker.net/uploads/default/original/3X/d/0/d08c8241293f94b90c0ddd1916942791885b90b6.jpeg)
- But then you have these funky shapes, which looks like some diagonally cut hotdog on the sides and hexagonal cylinder in the middle. This looks complicated, and for a very little return on time investment, I would decline to CAD it.
So which one is it ouf of the three?
In addition, to 3D print it, I’d charge at least $12 for a pair in 1/16. If that’s too costly for you, let’s scrape it.
Kind regards,
James
