3D prints and CADs Part 2 - by petition2God

Ok, thanks.

It is the same shelter and fits in the 2.5-ton bed just fine. The set even comes with the turnbuckles to secure them with.

Awesome thank you I’ll chase down the two kits to see which is the easier grab. Not sur how I missed them.

M4 Sherman 75mm gun CAD in 1/35. Dimensions based on Asuka/Tasca kit part. This was an easy one.

Looks nice but shouldn’t the rifling be twisted (just a comment, no research done)? It appears almost straight. I know at this scale any appearance would probably be good enough but……

Yea, I thought about the twisted shape but decided on a simpler shape bc they’re going to be hardly visible in the 1/35 scale and probably not show up in the prints either.

OK, do the twist baby!

Better?

While we’re on the subject of the M4 Sherman’s 75mm gun; I’d love to see the early M34 narrow mantlet used on the M4A1 and early M4A2 Shermans.

One that will fit the Tamiya Early Production gun base.

Not doing it, Reynier. Too many AM options for it available already, and I do not like doing curves.

Fair enough. Thought I’d ask…

OK, FB Sherman “experts” have indicated that the rifling is a much slower twist:

OK, correction again. Rivet counters at FB Sherman group is telling me it is a right hand twist rifling instead of left hand so I revise again.

The extended turret basket for Tamiya M551 Sheridan VN War in 1/35. CAD done!
Test 3D printing tomorrow, Sunday 12/3/2023.

Thinking 21 USD printed and 20 USD for STL file (if downloaded directly from me vs. cults3D) - Armorama member price. Probably sell it for more to FB requesters. Let’s see if it prints OK first.

Nice. Here in MN some of the Shermans on display have a 90mm muzzle brakes on the barrels. Just thought I’d share it here.

The M551 Sheridan baskets and M60A1 guns are being 3D printed but will take 15 hours to finish… :frowning:
In the meantime, made a tube cutter tool for scratch-building. To cut 1mm, 2mm, and 4mm diameter plastic rods/tubes. I’ll print it with an FDM printer.
