OK, so I’m revising my antenna matching unit CADs in 1/35 (originally for the US AFVs) to look more like the IDF’s.

To match:

The sand colored springs are the original design and the gray is the updated design:

Also trying to bend the springs a bit to go from 45 degrees to 60 degrees:

To look more like IDF’s:

More to come…

CADs done. 3D printing these this weekend and uploading to my cults3d page.

Reference photo used - I think they look fairly close.

Now I am going to work on this antenna base CAD (as seen in the rear of Merkava Mk. 4):

These are how Meng depicted them in its Merkava 4 LIC with Nochri-Kal roller kit (parts H41 and 42):

Not bad but could use a more accurate replacement.

Bought a new laser printer and decal sheet. I plan to make some custom decals to go along with my 3D prints.

Yes! Love this! Already talked about 155 mm rounds and 120 mm tank rounds that need markings. So many radios, jerry cans and such that could use decals. Next if you could find interest in photo etch productions as add ons? With your eye for detail your products will reach another level for our little hobby. I am excited to learn of the new investment!

Thanks for your suggestions, Stuart. Yes, I was thinking about the decals on rounds, ammo cans, and jerry cans.
I don’t plan on getting into photo etch productions however bc how time-consuming it is and how very toxic chemicals (e.g., hydrochloric acid) involved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJsBZWqrN-g.
We shall see on the decal production. Not enough time during the weekend to even finish all the 3D printing so I’ll have to manage somehow.

That is serious equipment. Does yellow on your decals remain yellow on a green surface? The yellow from my decal printshop doesn’t,it turns white. A real PITA.

Hi Hans, I have yet to try printing a decal. Too busy doing CAD work at the moment. I’ll try it maybe next weekend?

The cones you produced are the shorter version of the one pictured with the train/Abrams. The one with the Abrams looks to be a 36" cone. Yours, and the one with the single reflective stripe, appear to be 18" cones. No biggie, just clarifying.

There are 3 typical size traffic cones. 18", 28", and 36". I always preferred the 36" cones. They were easier to place and pick up. Less bending over!

And of course, if I read your post, instead of just looking at the pictures, I would see that you did say 18" cone. I swear, I do read the articles, not just look at the pictures

@corsutton , OK, Cory, I obviously knew that my CAD is not a 36" cone, designed it as an 18" cone, and the photo with the vehicles in the background was just a scenario. Obviously, I did not make a traffic barrel next to the cone, and no need for a clarification for that.

Thanks for the illustrations with the dimensions however! They’re helpful.

The question is “are you asking me to CAD a 36” one?" I offered the 18" for free generously. Don’t want it? Don’t take it.
If I do a 36" one, my question to you is:

No, No! I didn’t read your actual original post. I saw that it was an 18" after i posted my response. I was just clarifying that your cone and the one pictured were different! I am a huge fan of your stuff and have many in my likes for when I start my projects needing them!

I have purchased some of your files already. They are great files and print superbly on my Mars3 Pro

Understood, Cory. Shoot, man. Now, I am going to CAD a 36" cone and price it.
