Thank you SdAufKia! Yours is the best explanation of the how and why’s of steering an airbrush. I’ll copy and hang it on the spraybooth (outer) wall.
I have owned a Badger 100, 150 and 200, Badger was my first airbrush and what I learned by experience on. I have no ill thoughts of those Badgers. Over time I migrated to an Iwata Eclipse gravity feed for my general use. Excellent airbrush. For any technical work I have an Iwata HP C + with the MAC valve. For 1/35 size models this is a fantastic 1, 2 combination. I do want to get a larger airbrush for larger area coverage. Trying to paint something like an RC aircraft wing and keep a wet edge is not the realm of my Iwata eclipse. I need more paint than the smaller airbrush allows but better paint control than a rattle can.
Top, you want an Iwata Revolution CR. It has a .5 nozzle and is gravity feed double action. It’s also priced not to break the bank. I’ve been using one as my wide coverage airbrush for 20-odd years and it’s a workhorse that pairs perfectly with the HP-C+.
