Very temptingβ¦

The Playmarker tips are more like a soft paintbrush, wereas the Real Colors tips are like a marker. I find the Playmarker tips easier to control for detail painting.
Been reading all of the posts as I havenβt taken the plunge yet and bought any paint markers. Would you say with their tips being softer that the playmarker pens might get into corners easier?
I just bought the Markers Wheel set β¦ they look good and I was going to attempt to do the rubber window surrounds on the Scammell Commander as I think they will be able to do that and I will have a bit more control β¦ will keep you posted.
Cheers Johnny. On an unrelated note I see Chris Finney GC is in the news seeing the King along with all of the other VC and GC awarded veterans.
Yeah he lives down here about 20 min from me. Havenβt seen him in a while β¦ he was running a garden centre for a while. If his action had been in a real enemy engagement it would of been a VC probably β¦ and a VC that was deserved unlike 1 I can mention.
I havenβt seen him in years, we used to always be at the same events during our recruiting years. I saw the wagons he was in, they were stored in Um Qasr along with the QRL Challenger awaiting shipment back to the UK for analysis on an RFA. They looked like theyβd had their rear end ripped off by a giant cat.
I had to laugh on the Queens funeral event β¦ in Westminster Abbey, the camera zoomed in on his big head where he and the GC & VC holders were sat
Yes, I think so. Along with being able to control the paint sent to the tip with playmakers. There is no control with the real markers.
Might that be the one Iβve heard referred to as the PC VC?
In the Clarkson programme on how hard itβs getting to be awarded the VC around ten minutes before the end he mentions John Cruickshank, a Catalina Pilot who received one of four VCs awarded to Coastal Command during WW2 and the only one which wasnβt posthumous - but only just so, his injuries were such he never flew in command of an aircraft again. I was agreeably surprised to discover that despite this the old fellow is still dodging the Grim Reaper, and if (hopefully) he makes it to the end of this month he will have clocked up his 105th yearβ¦ What makes it especially interesting is a comment from a Secretary of State on the VC recommendation βI think that the VC has been earned in this case although an element of self-preservation enters into it.β Clarkson shortens the timeline, the Catalina took five and a half hours to return to base with Cruickshank in the back refusing morphine in case it impaired his ability to command the aircraft, after which he was helped back into the cockpit and had the aircraft circle for another hour until he was satisfied conditions had improved to the point where his less-experienced but also less-wounded co-pilot could safely manage a water landing and beach the flying sieve; Cruickshank required a blood transfusion to help stabilise him before he could be removed from the aircraft.
Regards,
M
Possibly, I have not heard it referred as that, but to everyone who knows and was there, the one I am on about as never a VC, potentially a CGC or MM. Happy to discuss it in a PM but I wont go into details on an open forum.
'Nuff saidβ¦
Cheers,

Have done the glass surrounds on the Scammell with the flat black AK Marker. It worked to a certain extent but as Ryan @Tank_1812 said, you may get better control and flow with the playmarker sets ? In some areas there was a bit of over flow and the tip tended to flatten out going around corners causing a bit more area to be covered than desired. For fine detailing, I think the AK Real Colour Marker the tips are just a bit to big. ( I will be having to do some remedial correction work on the areas needed with a fine paint brush)
Yes Iβve found this too- the Playmarkers can get into smaller areas with more precision- having used both they compliment each other quite well. Only issue I have with the Playmarkers is they can drip paint off the brush if you pump it too much so be careful where you do pump the paint- you donβt want a freshly painted model to get a big olβ drip of un-wanted color!
Donβt forget to put the top back on the AK Real Colors. I did and Iβm still trying to get it to run right. It had to be olive drab out of all of them.
I second that. Hopefully I only learn that lesson once. No kit was harmed but did have extra paint elsewhere that was not intended.
