AMPS 2025 Show Announcement - Gearing Up for a Great Convention

Yes, it’s that time again for the AMPS Show Team to begin to put together another great show. Actually, many of the show team have been preparing well before now, and looking forward to putting on a fantastic show.

The show logo for the AMPS 2025 convention is pretty cool thanks to the talents of AMPS member Harry Crossley. Visit the AMPS homepage (amps-armor.org) and see it in all its’ glory.

Theme definition: Any armored themed entry serving on the African continent from 1899 to the present. Entry must contain documentation. (Documentation as what we require for the .5 point for research).

Hotel Accommodations: The AMPS 2025 Convention will be held at the Penn Harris Hotel and Convention Center, 1150 Camp Hill Bypass, Camp Hill, PA 17011. To make sure you’ve got a room for the convention, you can visit the AMPS homepage at https://amps-armor.org to reserve a room online or call the hotel directly at 717-763-7117 and quote group code 051425AMP. The special room rate is 149.00 a night (excluding taxes) that includes free WiFi and parking. For those who attended the AMPS Nationals in 2019 at the Penn Harris Hotel, it’s a very brief walk from the rooms to the convention center where all the activities will be held.

Judging: As most know, it takes a lot of judges to work a show using the AMPS style of judging. AMPS training modules for judging are currently on-line at the AMPS homepage (amps-armor.org) which allows you to take the training at your own pace and when it’s most convenient for you. Besides training modules for Field Judge, there are training modules for Ramrod, Assistant Chief Judge, Table Captain Judge, Diorama and Vignette Judging and Figure Judging. I encourage all AMPS members who haven’t, to take the Judges training on-line or at the show and volunteer at the show. This is a great way to support your fellow modelers, and it will really help keep the show moving on schedule and moving along.

Donations: As you look through your stash and wonder whether you will ever get all these kits built, consider donating them to AMPS for the big raffle. Funds raised through the AMPS raffle are used to support the Society to host future shows, provide preservation donations and items necessary to run the show like medals, score sheets and office supplies. New or newer kits, aftermarket, figures, and reference materials are all welcome. More on donations in a future AMPS announcement.

Seminars: As the show team puts the 2025 show together, a list of seminar speakers and topics will be posted.

Vendors: AMPS is looking forward to having a sensational variety of vendors attending this show that will surely clean your wallet out and add to your stash. As vendors confirm their attendance, a list will be posted on the AMPS home page (amps-armor.org) and the various model sites.

Until the next AMPS 2025 show announcement, keep modeling, tell a friend about AMPS and enjoy the hobby.

Cheers!

Hey DV! I would attend that.

I am 30/70 on being able to attend but if I could, a met up sounds great.

Only 30%? C’mon, Ryan, this is the social event of the season.

It is butting up against my daughter’s birthday and college dorm move out week. The wimmens keep changing plans and information, so 30% is on the high side. If they can make a decision, then I can. You know how that goes. :pensive:

There is another week long national contest in Aug that is closer to house that I will probably be attending. I might run into a similar issue of college move in.

Yep, 4 daughters here, women can be a pain in the ass. Your circumstances are understandable. I hope things stabilize and you’ll be able to attend. I’ll be at IPMS this year so maybe we can meet up then.
