Antique Antics

If my desk is not messed up, I would think there is something wrong! LOL

I was thinking about the handles for the storage boxes. I will think about it for the grab handles. I found I was missing a part on the hull, the number one lifting ring and had made a brass replacement long time ago but never attached til today.

Looking over the kit, it appears I might have donated my tracks to Model for Troops my. I did find a Dragon M46 kit (1995 boxing so it still fits the campaign) with plastic link tracks and no tank. I think the movie used rubber tread and not what what looks like steel treads in the kit. A little mud like the movie showed will hide the issue.

You guys are off to great start.

A Cluttered desk is a sign of a Cluttered mind; ergo a clean desk is a sign of an empty head…

Last major bit done for a few days as work calls tomorrow…
Everything is now primed and ready to go.

I painted the cable drum assemblies and the area under them on the bogies mudguards to make sure it gets covered.
Going for a one colour of dunkelgelb with a medium wear and tear look…

Color question for y’all. In the movie it appears the M47 is Panzer Grey but if you search behind the scenes photos it appears to very light color. Is this a byproduct of the movie making, the photo being taken or some other thing I don’t known about but more importantly what color should I paint the tank?

Darker

Light

Thanks in advance.

Ok… I take the hint…

There you go… Chaos.

Everyone happier with that image lol ?

Cleaning ModelKasten road wheels for the Italeri Pz IV

Definitely an antique & nostalgia build:
Puchased the kit in like 1988, tracks in 1989 & wheels mid 1990’s

Hi,
For this campaign I choose the Tamiya´s 21 years old Möbelwagen. Compared to newer kits this one is showing its age, but still is a nice build and with some after markets and ingenuity it will be improved greatly.

Cheers

Welcome to the land of tiny desks and big messes Raul.

Nice choice, it was one of my stash that I thought about.

The difference is in the set up for the big multi vehicle Battle scenes and the smaller lesser number vehicle shots. These were filmed at different times and the vehicles used were not the same ones in both occasions, so required repainting for the takes. Pick your poison and paint it whatever way you want to…

Good to know. Thanks.

 'bout damn time! :joy:

Thank you, Petbat. A Nice old kit after all.

Hi all,
A bit of history to put this babe in context:
In mid-1943 the Germans began to see that one of the main problems with their ground forces was the strafing aircraft and the fighter-bombers attacking from 3 to 4000 meters. Therefor they decide that a special vehicle for protection was in need.
During a meeting on 21st December 1943 it was decided that the flak-panzer based on a Pz. IV chassis should be further developed with a 3.7 cm Flak 43 and no longer the 2 cm Flak-Vierling.
After a series of test, modifications and combat training the first Möbelwagen were dispatched to combat units on 15th. June 1944. All in all some 240 vehicles were produced from March 1944 to March/April 1945. (excerpt from Panzer Tracts 12-1, Jentz and Doyle)

I intent to build a Möbelwagen delivered in Oct/Nov 1944 to the western front.

The lower hull presents no problem
