So I was having to do a bit of work on both Armorama and the Forum server tonight. I think I may have solved the issue with Armorama having to go into bot protection mode over and over again. Fingers crossed that works.
However after a failed update on the forum software (which I eventually resolved) I realized we are getting uncomfortably close to our storage limit for this instance (320GB). I can upgrade to the next level server but that is double the money the current instance is costing. I could also look at other storage options like dedicated storage drives. They may be a little less but probably not a whole lot. The good thing would be they would scale to usage so initially they wouldn’t cost a lot. However I went down this road once with a remote drive and it was very confusing on how it would work with the current forum vs. from a new install of an empty forum, etc.
Well… basically this is me saying we need more supporters again. We have about 60-70 now, but in the old days we were well over a hundred via the old PayPal subscriptions we had. I won’t plead but this if for all those non-supporters reading this… the site costs money. And the more financially viable it is, the more time I can afford to working on it and paying the hosting, email, Cloudflare, and domain bills.
I have had a lot of enjoyment here over the last almost 22 years and I have made some really good friends on the site. So I figure being a supporter is just something I should do.
Well… I guess I got ahead of myself thinking I had fixed the issues with Armorama. And I noted AeroScale was being affected in the same way as well. Not sure what is going on recently with all this additional bot traffic. So for now the human check will be on for both sites.
BTW I noticed that the images that come with the posts on new releases do not show for me.
These for instance come up like the picture shown. I had this before the update too, btw. refreshing the page or clicking to reload the image does nothing either.
