Finally, yes! Kit #35-054.
I’d love to see them release a M4 105mm next… looking at the hull engineering, it looks like that could be in the cards… ![]()

Would love a M4 105 to do a Sherman 1B
I have yet to build a M4 medium by Asuka / Tasca. Back in the 2000s, they were considered excellent. People seem to prefer Rye Field now.
I did not enjoy the Taska Luchs but that dates from the early 2000s. Is modern Asuka worth looking at? I presume the model will come with soft plastic tracks that require replacing.
I kinda want to get back into the M4 medium game but kinda do not because for me, two pin VVSS tracks always suck.
Having built both they are about on par. Asuka offers far more variants that RFM do which makes them to defacto Sherman recommendation.
Is Asuka the old Tasca kits? I have a Tasca Firefly in the stash.
Yes, they rebranded.
Hopefully a HVSS boxing is not far behind.
Thanks. I will probably buy one from each company and see what happens. The five completed M4 mediums in my collection all came from Dragon.
If you suffered the Lizard, you’ll find Asuka to be a breath of fresh air! I’ve built both Tasca/Asuka and RFM kits and generally they are an even match. The big difference is tracks - Asuka gives flexible gluable “rubber band” tracks (that I quite like for detail and ease) while RFM has complex multipart plastic tracks that look great but take forever to assemble. If you choose to replace them (either kit) I can heartily recommend the recent resin tracks from DN Studio - the end connectors simply click into place and a track run takes less than an hour to build! (No affiliation, just a very happy customer…)
A second vote for DN Studios VVSS and HVSS tracks. Highly detailed, excellently printed, and literally snap together. Great prices and cheap shipping, too.
Where is DN Studio located? Do they sell to USA?
Thanks for any info.
Looks like they are U.K. based.
Just to add on, I’m looking at an Asuka M4 Sherman on my woekbench right now, trying to get it finished up. I thought the kit was excellent, would buy again.
Damon.
No slide moulding?
That kit was announced for 2024 and still hasn’t been released. The newest release according to their web site is 35-053 an M4A1 75mm. I’ve been checking regularly for 2 years hoping to see it or better yet an M4/105 vvss as a new release
With the M4A3(105mm) kit you can always buy the engine deck and hull sprues from one of their M4 kits to make an M4(105mm)! I’ve ordered sprues from Asuka’s online shop a number of times and it is both smooth and affordable for us incurable kit-bashers…
Nice job finishing that build!
The Sherman looks fantastic — the olive drab, the stars, and all the little details really bring it to life. You can tell a lot of effort went into it, and wrapping up a kit like that is always a big win.
Big congrats on knocking this one out; it’s a solid piece of work!
Thanks,
I went to the site and import fees not happy with. Oh well…
Luckily they aren’t bad for Canada. I just bought an HVSS suspension set off it and it is in my community mail box as of today. Around $34 total
