Australian Bushmaster 1:35

As the JLTV1278 is not going to be my favourite model, I set out to make it painless and the workshop was not. Tomorrow(maybe Tuesday a gallery of the finished model with my comments). I am already looking forward to the next adventure-this time a bus carrying soldiers of several nationalities. Mine will be a classic - Australian. DUKE antennas ordered. I am about to start. I spent 2 hours yesterday with the model maker- it promises to be great.

This looks like a 3D printed kit. Who makes it please?

Yes, it’s 3D printed. The author is a colleague from the Modelwork modelling forum.

Isnt there a injected kit of it as well?

There was this -Showcase Models Australia. I don’t know if it is still in production and available. Also, the quality was poor.

I’ve got that one - I bollixed the suspension and it’s buried on a basement shelf now as I didn’t want to ruin it further.

The Showcase Models Bushmaster is unfortunately now long out of production, company owner died. It was not a bad kit (has an interior) but with some glitches/oversights - but it was a pretty good effort for first AFV release for an Australian model company. Sadly also the last. They go for silly money whenever they come up for sale.
Dragon did release a series of 1/72 scale Bushmaster variants, and I had been hoping they may upscale these but no luck so far.
I had heard a whisper there may be something in the works with Meng, have to wait and see what pops up.

I started with the interior. The bodywork as a single piece makes it difficult to assemble the components inside and not much will be visible. I will somehow manage this problem.

All the work with the cabinets was lost in the interior. Only the one by the rear exit will be visible. A pity. I glued the side elements of the bodywork. Now it’s time to mask under the anti-slip surfaces.

Masked and anti-slip surface on roof and bonnet done. I did it for the first time ever and am satisfied. Admittedly, in the original ride the texture is slightly different (as if along laid with a comb), but in scale you can’t see that. Also, there will be boxes etc on almost the entire roof.

Looks good. There’s also anti slip on the bonnet/hood of the truck, too.

Ooooo! Great. Thank you. I suspect it may already be too late, but I’ll give it a go.

Model 90% assembled. Additional suspension components and a fire extinguisher will arrive tomorrow. I have completed the grips on the bonnet and the anti-slip surface. The winch will be painted first, then I will wind the cable and mount the whole thing on the vehicle.

Really liking that anti slip spay, It’s very subtle. I think I’ll have to look into getting some.

I would like to see a side by side comparison of the new 3D printed kit compared to the ShowCase Model Bushmasters. Everyone says the ShowCase model was so bad how did the 3D model improve on the older kit?

From the model Work forum
“It is already available, only the instructions remain. Price 280 + shipping. As for Stara266, there will be a continuation of the project after the end of Casspira and Oncilla.”

I didn’t have the old set in my hands. The new one is, in my opinion, very good. Brilliantly sized, very good detail. I think, qualitatively a bit better than MadModellbau (I have Caracal and Serval)-harder resin.
Aaaaa! 280 PLN = 65 €
