A successful camouflage this time. I applied wash and oils . The rest will follow
That looks really nice.
Fast work, it is coming along. How did you do the camo after all? Do you plan to keep that very heavy spare wheel on the hood? Is the RWS from Blast or does it come with the 3D project?
I’m watching closely.
CROWS is from the set. The camouflage as you can see is ok. The wheel will be on the bonnet according to this photo.
Great reference, two spares are always better than one. I see in your reference photo the top gunners have better line of site with the stowage along the sides rather than on top but I too have seen Bushmasters with the top filled with gear.
Great work as always, I look forward to your final vignette.
thanks
The Bushmaster with the spare on the bonnet/hood is a Dutch Army one in Mali. You can see the “UN” titles.
I know this, which does not change the fact that such a wheel mounting is possible.
Understood. If you’re modelling a vehicle in Australian service, unless you can find an example of what you’re looking to represent, I wouldn’t take foreign practices as representative of what Australian soldiers would do.
Your mode, of course, but such procedural differences are what show what country the vehicle is in service with.
I understand your arguments-you are right. Sometimes I build a model of a specific vehicle, and sometimes I use photos of many different vehicles as inspiration. This is the case here, so I don’t treat this as a 100% reflection of a particular Bushmaster.
Makes 100% sense - I did something similar for my 1/16 Bushmaster. Looking forward to the rest of the build.
Highly unlikely us Aussie would not mount a spare on the bonnet on the roof yes bonnet no
@dmiles -Do you have any reference photos?
of the spare on the roof?
no but based on my time in the ADF 20 year in the Air Force 9 of those working for the Army never saw one the bonnet never saw one on the roof only on the side where they are usually mounted but the roof would be the more logical place if an additional spare was to be carried, out of the way and could be used to give additional protection to the gunners
the Black Dog Australia Bushmaster accessories set is pretty much how stowage is packed onto the vehicle also (using your search engine of choice) punch in adf bushmaster afghanistan and look through the images or follow link below and scroll through the Australian War Memorial photos some 200 not just Bushmasters but will have some aspect of a bushmaster in the pic.

Thank you for sharing so many great photos. My mistake and a lesson for the future. As I mentioned- I am not building a model of a specific vehicle. Unfortunately the wheel is already glued with CA and cannot be moved. It has to stay that way .
Does anyone happen to know where I can find good reference (walkaround) photos of the SPARK ll mine roller?
How did you do the masking this time Piotr?
This time without risk. Camouflage hand-painted with brushes
