I researched about the best LED desk lamps for the past few days because I need one for my workspace and study setup. I read reviews on TechRadar, Wirecutter, and other popular blogs, and they are recommending these two as the best:
Honeywell H6 Sunturalux™ Eye-Caring LED Desk Lamp (800LM, Dimmable, Touch Control with Timer)
https://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-SunturaluxTM-Eye-Caring-Dimmable-Control/dp/B0F18QVFDK
Premium Double Head LED Desk Lamp – Eye-Caring, Dimmable, Remote Control
https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Desk-Lamp-Home-Office/dp/B0FBGH7ZKV
However, I am having trouble deciding which one would best suit my needs and I need your expert advice.
In my setup, I usually work on a laptop for long hours, do some reading, occasional writing, and sometimes light editing work. I need something that is easy on the eyes, has adjustable brightness and color modes, and doesn’t cause strain during long sessions.
So which one should I buy? Any recommendations will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance !

The truth of the matter is if you want an LED lamp just for reading and computer work, then any of the top winners will do.
BUT…if you want an LED lamp for modeling, none of the ones listed above will do and here’s why. A lamp is only as good and bright as the work area it shines on, meaning I had two fluorescent “daytime soft white light” bulb lamps because one didn’t shine bright enough or span the width of my desk. If you want to build models on the same desk, then buy an overhead adjustable brightness LED lamp with a head that spans the width of the entire desk and that will cost more. It’s the lumen brightness that you want, but if you don’t do modeling on your desk, any of the top winning LED lamps should do fine.

I don’t know if this one is the best for you, but it is for me. So much so that I have two - one beside my bed and the other wherever. I say wherever because it has a clamp, which you see in the photo that clamps onto the granite tabletop, but also a quick release that inserts into a very heavy portable base, so that I can instantly use it anywhere in the house. I keep one of the heavy bases permanently in one of my work areas.
They feature a magnifying lens and a ring shaped lamp - perfect for modeling. The ring eliminates shadows. They also have different intensities and also different shades of light for less intense viewing. (I use them for reading as well)
Some folks who don’t seem to see things as well as they used to could probably benefit. Great for spotting decal film.
