Best Painting Kit for Scale Models - Expert Recommendation to Choose

I researched the best painting kits for scale models over the past few days because I want a complete and reliable setup for model painting. I read reviews and discussions on hobby forums and model painting blogs, and these two kits are frequently recommended by many modelers:

187Pcs Professional All-in-One Art Painting Kit

163-Piece French Easel Painting Set

However, I’m having trouble deciding which one would best suit my needs and would appreciate some expert advice.

I mostly paint plastic scale models, focusing on brush painting, fine details, and occasional weathering. I’m looking for a painting kit that includes good-quality paints, usable brushes, and is suitable for both beginners and intermediate hobbyists.

Which painting kit would you recommend based on experience?
Is it better to start with a complete painting kit or build tools and paints separately?

Any recommendations will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

None of those, you decide what kit your building and then purchase the paints you need for that kit,and then the next, and the next.Sometimes I will purchase a Vallejo or an AK-REAL set for a particular genre like US Navy jets or German Armor. There are some basic tools and brushes that you need to get started, but many more will cone over time.

Well, the easel wouldn’t be of any use unless your plan is to produce paintings of kits. And as Tojo72 mentions it might be better to see which paints your kit selection requires plus a handful of basic colors like black, white, red, etc. A set devoted to a specific kind of vehicle (Soviet armor, Italian air force) can get you most of the colors you might need for your project.

In my case, I went ahead and bought all the AK Real colors for German armor and all WWII air forces as I mostly build those. I also don’t think it hurts to have a good supply of Tamiya paints as well.

The type of paint (acrylic, oil, etc.) will depend on your preferences and whether you have to be able to vent harmful fumes.
