Hmmmm. I promised myself that after my T-74 and the mad Chrysler TV-8, I wouldn’t get sucked into anymore experimental/What-Ifs - but I do have a nagging urge to tackle this one; does it qualify?
I think it would qualify, as it failed to go into service. A light tank/recon tank or armored vehicle debate could be had but overall Tom doesn’t seem hung up on the wording so that discussion of which is not necessary for campaign purposes but might be interesting otherwise.
“And don’t get too hung up on “tank” - I’m sure we can all appreciate wheeled vehicles, APCs, and other battlefield would-be developments as long as they ultimately failed to go into service!”
As for the plastic itself, I would think most would have preferred adding a bunch of track wedges vs dealing with the seam through them all and the curved plastic. At least I would have, my build is stuck at that stage. You have two “tanks” to experiment with in the kit.
I will finish mine in time. Initial weathering is drying now and then probably a few more dirt layers.
If I need an extension for a couple of weeks I will let you know, but does not look like it. Thanks for offering it.
I am definitely ready for another one. Maybe finally make that Maus of mine
Well I’ve been watching along at some amazing builds and think I’ll jump in on Pt4, either a Soviet Object 279, Chieftain idea (Tamiya Cheiftain and Esci M-60) or the Miniart Soviet ball tank on skies.
Idea for a captured one in Finnish markings with ski troops being towed behind.
Funnily enough, I have that kit in my stash - with the same 2 figures identified and all ready and waiting for the Firing Line Bandwagon - the only Brit version available - and of course - all to no avail as Firing Line is no more. Just shows what happens when you hesitate. Sigh
PS: Anyone got the Firing Line Bandwagon they want to get rid of…?
@BootsDMS Brian I don’t know that kit or vehicle, any pictures?
@barkingdigger Tom, I’m not sure if a Reindeer wound be able to halt a tank on it’s own unless it’s a reindeer version of the Russian bomb dogs with magnetic mines attached to it’s antlers.
Oh dear, its late and my mind is running away!!
It’s the BV 206 - and Firing Line made quite a complex version of it - but they’d recently overhauled the tracks (hitherto made in complicated etch) and I was looking forward to getting one, but not quickly enough, and poor old DJ Parkins piled in.
Well I’ve just created the topic for BTTNW4! I decided on a start date of 1 June, running for a year…
(And from what I’ve read, pretty much anything used by the Finns would stop the Russians in the Winter War, so I think a well-placed antler would do the trick…)
@BootsDMS arrr. the BV series now I know what you’re talking about, don’t think I’ve heard it call a bandwagon.
@barkingdigger Cool, before I get carried away does the Soviet ball tank qualify? Just looked at the destructions for the Finnish figures and think I can fit the reindeer into a small vignette with the ski troops and ball tank.
