Bubbles in my clearcoat - what do I do?

So I’ve had multiple occasions in the past where I get what I think people call an orange peel finish - not a really smooth clearcoat (I think that’s right). Today I got that and also some bubbles in the finish. Probably not bubbles but pronounced bumps. When I get orange peel I usually hit it with a coat or MLT and it smooths right out. So today I hit it with the MLT which got rid of the orange peel bits of it, but not the pronounced bumps. Is it safe to sand those? If so, how do I go about it.

FWIW I use Tamiya X-22 thinned with MLT for the clear coat.

You need high grit sand paper- something like 2000 or above. Be very gentle so you don’t cut right through the clear coat and hit the paint beneath. Keep checking the sanding sheet or pad for signs of paint. If its a clear coat it should be kind of white-ish on the sanding paper. Then re-apply the clear coat when you are finished.
