Nice. Thats an impressive barrel, was that included in the kit ? Bet the detailing will be good on the internal fighting compartment..

My Das Werk Leopard 2A7V and this one both came in last Friday. Poor UPS guy was loaded down. I’ll be following your build as I did the last one.

There’s an engine, Drivers Compartment and Fighting Compartments.
I’m not crazy about the Track that comes with the Kit , it is one of those Clickable sets.
I wonder if I could use the Winter Track from Das- Werk?

Be very careful with the Leopard, while it is very detailed, there are a lot of realy tiny parts and the instructions leave a lot to be desired.

Ok now on to the start of the Build, First off is the Transmission,
It is very detailed and some parts are a bit tricky.
If you pay close attention to the Pics, they should help,
Once again Instructions not a lot of help.

I’ll be doing the Engine next, then painting both units.
Once everything is finished you can’t see most of the Engine. I’ii build and paint it anyway just to show you all.

Another one of your amazing big-sacle builds coming along nicely. I just picked up the 1/35 version from Tamiya, along with the metal barrel.

I’m waiting for the metal tracks from Sanxin coiming from China

Just think, with a 1/16th. Hummel Maby there’s a 1/16th. scale Nashorn comming.
Just think Almost the same Hull just a 88mm Anti Tank Gun on it.

Trumpeter is doing a 1/16 Nashorn. It’s already been announced and the prototype was shown at Nuremberg in January.

Many thanks for sharing insights to so many of your 1/16th builds for us.

Does this kit grant you the intercom components? From what you say, the radio compartment isn’t covered, but there should be a few visible sockets for headsets…

If the instructions are online somewhere, I’ll simply read those.

Nice start.

The only thing for any radio is an antenna mount to the right front side of the Hull.
With only a top and front panel to view through you really can’t see much inside.
I’m just starting the engine, and I’m not really Shure it is worth bothering with . It is located under the Gun mount in an enclosed space and you really can’t see it.
By Radio Compartment I’m assuming you mean the area on the other side of the transmission, the only thing there is a pad to go on the floor.

Donald, Do you know if its a newly modelled mould engine or a rehash of the dreadfully wrong engine in their older Pzr IV kits?

Hmmm. All right, no visible radio, but there should be a couple of intercom boxes in the gun compartment. I’ll check out whatever images I can find.

I never used then in the Mk.IV With the Radiator in there you couldn’t see much but the Radiator.

I just checked the instructions again David and I don’t see anything that could be that.

Today I have the Engine assembled and ready to paint. After painting I’ll add the Belts and some other parts.
First mistake is one of the holes where the header goes is the wrong size.

I had to trim the opening to fit it.

Here is the engine ready for paint.

Careful with the hoses.
I’ll be doing some painting now so I’ll be busy for a bit
Finished for now.
