Was preorder only last time I checked, so happy to wait for a while, especialy as the hobbyboss 1/16 38t has just arrived. At only £60, brand new, I couldn’t say no, no 7 in my stash.

Got mine from Jadlam, pre-ordered it in June. Pretty good fit of most parts but one or two wrinkles😁

Well I finally finished it, I almost lost it when doing the Weathering.
I forgot about the snap together track, and it came apart in two places.
Luckily I caught it before it hit the Floor (CRUNCH)
The Track snapped back together, and here are the finished Pics.
This was mostly strait out of the Box. The only things I added were the Water Cans inside, I replaced the Tow Cable, it looked too thick, and finally I used a piece of Clear Sprue to update the Tube Tail Light.

I have a few thoughts and comments about this Kit.
#1 For me the subject was un expected,
#2 I like open top Vehicles
#3 I had a lot of fit issues, Warping and such
#4 The Instructions are terrible, it is hard to tell exactly where and how the parts are positioned
#5 I built the Engine just to show what you can see of it, as expected Nothing Visible of it
#6 The Drivers area, a waste of time and effort, not much visible through the Hatches
#7 The Tracks were a Bitch to clean up but went together rather easily
#8 The Kit was designed to be built in Travel Mode, but as I have shown can be converted to Firing
#9 There is a lot of wasted detail The Track tensioners, under the Deck & Ammo Storage Boxes
#10 This kit could have used More stowage, Ammo Containers, Tarps, and other addons
#11 At least there was no useless figures for me like in the Takom Kits, I’m no good with figures they always look like mannequins
#12 I’ll be doing the Nashorn if it ever gets out, I have the Winter track for it allready.
#13 I think that if you look through my build up above , that I have shown really all that you need to know about this kit.

Hi, I am building this at present and agree about the interior, I didn’t bother. I will build the transmission and engine as a separate display piece. Aluminium barrels have their place but in this scale a plastic item would have been preferable just too heavy. In summary I would give this 7 out of ten and when compared to Takom 1/16 kits they win hands down.

About the Engine, That’s what I usually do. Build them as separate Models.
That is what I plan to do when the Nashorn kit gets out.

Great job. One question about #79 Is that special glue injector or what?

It is called a Touch and Flow applicator , It is used to apply liquid glue to the kit parts. It works realy good for tight areas. You just insert the Needle end into the Liquid Glue Bottle and use the Squeeze Bottle that comes with it to suck the Glue into the tube. Then touch the needle to where you want the Glue and out it flows. I use it all the time instead of brushes for the Liquid Glue.

another question . What kinde of colour You use to paint a transmission? On manual is H70 Dark Green but on shops under this number is paint RLM02 Gray.

I’m not Shure, but it was a dark Grey I think.
If you are building the Hummel, it won’t really matter as you can’t see much of it if any.
If and when I do the Nashorn which has the same running gear, I’m going to leave out the Engine and Drivers areas, Or do the Engine as a stand alone model

Thanks for taking the time to document you build. I really liked it. How hard was it to modify the barrel /carriage to make it into a firing position?
I built a 1/12 Das Werk’s Stug 3.
While I like the large scale models, because you can really detail it out. I only have a limited space (My wife gave me) to display them. I might have to blow up my large T34 to make room!

The only modifying I did is shown on Pic.204 &205 The gun fit right in. Just the sight needs adjusting for the firing position. All the Info. should be in that area of the Pic. story, not really hard to do.
