Ok Guys this is going to be a Long and busy Build.
I have the new Zimmerit from ATAK Models along with some parts from AFV Model.
I plan on doing a clean Museum build with the Clear Hull and Turret tops. I mean why do all that work and then you can’t see it. I’m thinking about doing the Engine as a separate model.
OK here is what I’m working with.
Looking forward to this build. I’ll be purchasing it in a couple of months. Going on holiday. Thanks for the info on the supplemental upgrades. I am going to build as an actual tank with the crew doing stop and check the tank time. Opn hatches etc. Looking to see about interior lighting. Any ideas? Thanks in advance and of course "Good Hunting!
AFV Model has some resin printed parts that are really detailed.
I’ll be using their muzzle Break , Ammo Bags, and Pioneer Tool clamps.
They have more parts, but I had to keep the costs of this build under control.
The Price of the kit is quite high, but with the interior maby worth it ?

Donald
Nice to see you working on this One Donald, the kit interests me, I built the AHHQ myself but this is a bit too much £££ for me as there are some other more tempting kits coming along that I would prefer. That said I’ll follow closely your progress.
A little more of the interior bottom and framing.
I fitted the framing then glued it all in place.
The Shocks need a little sanding if you want to position them.
Today I install the Firewall , it sounds simple but it isn’t.
The right rear Shock unit gets in the way. I should have just left it off for it can’t be seen and just gets in the way.
The Detail looks good, it’s just the instructions that SUCK.
I’m working on the interior of the lower part of the Hull.
Any of you that plan on building this kit should pay special attention to my next post later today.
Regards
Donald
I figured a different way to glue the ends of the Torsion Bars in Place.
It would be very hard to do with all the lower parts in place, so I drilled small holes as shown in Pic. #41 and applied liquid glue through the holes. They will be behind the arms and wheels and won’t be seen.
Going along well Donald
The detail is nice but why do they do things like leave the back of the control on the top front of the gearbox hollow? Little trumpeterisms I guess LOL
I’m enjoying watching and resisting buying it myself
Excellent work so far. Just a couple of quick comments/questions. You mentioned the loss of detail while buttoning things in…do you believe the interior and what you can see actually justify the cost? Also, does anyone out there know the accuracy if the interior so far. I saw the engine build and looks terrific, but then again, accuracy, hidden parts and cost. I’ll be getting it, when i return from holiday. Just curious as to how hard I am going to dissapointed going down the accuracy rabbit hole. Regardless, good work, presentation and continued
“Good Hunting!”
David Byrden has a list of things that need addressing on this kit, its growing as he finds more There seems to be a bit of early late confusion on the internals but as a kit its very impressive generally
Ask David he’s the Tiger expert, for Shure he is reading this. I don’t think all the interior is really worth it, but I wanted a late Tiger. How accurate is it ? I don’t know. I’m not disappointed with it yet just the instructions from Trumpeter suck as usual , I would have preferred one from Andy.
