Now a little more.

does anyone out there know the accuracy if the interior so far.
This is quite a bad interior, as far as accuracy goes. I could write many pages about it, but I’m waiting to get a good copy of the instruction sheet so that I can do a thorough job.
There are several items in the crew compartment that would be correct in an Early Tiger but not in a Late - mainly on the firewall and turret floor.
Also there are many items missing from the crew compartment. Stowed equipment, wiring and electrical boxes, etc.
The interior looks, to my eye, dimensionally correct, so this could be fixable as a personal project.
David
It looks like they have the Sponson Ammo bins correct.
I found this on the net last night , it might be one of yours ?
The kit has the Ammo where the red X is going in the right direction.
I am just wondering if they used the side covers in the late Tiger?
There’s a lot of rounds in the racks and the majority of it can’t be seen except through the clear hull top.

Donald
Yes, that rack should be pointing forward. It seems that Trumpeter are the first company to know this.
Yes, the bins had the side covers in a Late Tiger. They folded down as usual, so you can expose the rounds if you can make a folded cover.
I’d like to see the part that Trumpeter give us for that corner, if anybody wants to photograph it please?
David
Thank you very much for the photo… and aaaagh, that’s what I was afraid of.
They have “mirrored” the right-hand cover over to the left. But, the right-hand cover was designed for shells facing to the rear.
You can see the real cover in videos from the Saumur restoration team. In essence, the folding doors should be at the rear of the panel (on our left) and a blank space should be at the front… plus, the fire extinguisher goes there.
I have better photos somewhere, I will dig them out if you need…
David
Hey David I think I solved the problem,
That’s an excellent fix.
I have no images of the fire extinguisher, just a photo of the holder that used to be there (it got stolen).
David
This one the kit has fastened to the Turret Floor, that doesn’t seem right for the crew would be tripping over it manning the Gun.
Regards
Donald
Oh, it was there all right, in Early Tigers.
But it was no longer there in Mid Tigers.
David
This is to be a Late Tiger, so logically they moved it from the Turret Floor to the spot by the left rear Ammo Bin.

Donald
I finally have the Ammo finished. I didn’t do all of it , just what could be seen through the Clear Hull top. Here is how I installed it, you could assemble it like in the instructions but for me this way was a lot easier.
I’m not exactly how far from the edge the Covers should be.
What do you think David ?
Regards
Donald
oh I forgot, I still have to do the other side.
Ref the ammo covers, looking at the detail photos of the rl shots above it looks like they are back against the ammo racks or close enough to being so.
Keith
That’s what I thought, they fit the best that way.
This photo from the Saumur Tiger shows you how far from the edge is appropriate…a little bit of the hole in the support bulkhead would be visible, when the door is closed properly.
David
Thank you, this helps a lot
Donald
This build almost went into the Trash Can, This info I think is very important to anyone building this kit. CHECK the Front Armor Plate for warpage, I found out that mine was warped as shown below.
You should show a photo of the kit ammo bags, so we can see what they look like.
The ones you used look really good, who makes them?
Ken
Wow, those are a lot better than the kit ones!
