Well I’m starting another Big One , I hope this works out.

It’s funny, that detail you pointed out in photo 7. In one of those Aus Armor videos on the Stug. they had to deal with that very same part.
Ken
That’s why I pointed it out. I’ll be doing the inner 4 on each side next. It will be interesting to see if the parts fit like they are supposed to.

Donald
They fit ok on the right side , it’s the left side that was more of a problem.
The solution is to just fit the guides to the ends of the Swing Arms and only glue after they are engaged .
Here are the Pics. that should explain it. If you glue before like in the instructions it might not work too good.

Now for more of the running gear. All the info. is on the Pics. so if you save them you will have it all.
Finished for a while.

A little interest maby.
I have ordered the Waffle pattern Zimmerit set from Atak Models.

Donald
While waiting for the Zimmerit to arrive I started work on the Track.
Here is how I did it.
The next two pics. are from the Squadron Stug III in action book, they show the position of the Track Pin Heads.

I have the gun mounted to the Mantlet.
As usual all the Info is on the Pics.
Finished for now.

This is really slow going, I just got the Wheels painted and ready for assembly. I’m still waiting for the Zimmerit from Atak Models, once I get that most assembly can resume. Anyway here are the Wheels & Tires.
I got the Track painted finally , and the Top Mg. assembled.
Here are some Pics. of the Zimmerit if you are interested.
I’ll be working on installing the Zimmerit next.

Donald
Wait, Heller makes one of these?
Ken
I found Tamiya Extra thin cement good for applying that Donald. Let it leech under the zimm and capilliary action does the rest.
Keith
Yes; came out about the same time as the one Andy released through Das Werk’s factory. I believe it is the Trumpeter kit (released in 2020?) with some new parts. Two companies, MonoChrome and Gallery Models also reboxed the Trumpeter with new parts/decals.
I believe the difference is Trumpeter is a late model while Das Werk is an early.
I built both the Das Werk and Gallery kits , they are virtually the same basic kit with some extra parts.
It looks like you could use the Wading parts from the Panzer III if you wanted to.

The Zimmerit is in, I had to chase down the young girl that was working as mail carrier.
She drove past my mail box without leaving it for it needed to be signed for . I guess she didn’t want to walk up my driveway .
Anyway i have it as you can see above and will be starting it today.

Donald
