New from L & N / Berkshire Trains:
RJ Corman Caboose “Midway”
ex-CB&Q class NE-12/NE-12A. The railroad built these in their shops at Havelock, Nebraska. The NE-12’s, 13525 - 13559 in 1954. The NE-12A’s were built in 1960, 13560 -13589. The cars were identical except for the manufacturer of the air brake release valves, something that is difficult to discern.
I liked the sloped sides on the cupola.
Yes, they are a rather unique car of the Q’s own design. The Wabash had some similar cars w/a more aerodynamic shape to the cupola.
I wish I could see more here in Montana but the dudes I’m riding with are maniacs. Everything is a blur I did get another one in Wyoming I’ll post later on.
