Carrier Crossing 2, Honey I Shrunk The Diorama

Thank you to all of the above for their kind words and continued encouragement, it’s much appreciated, :slightly_smiling_face:.

I had to smile Jerry, I’ve done that before…posted in the wrong topic, glad I now have a fellow traveller in the ‘wrong post boat’,.

My work isn’t a patch on your construction skills Glenn, your work is a true art, :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:.

Hi all,

As the weather here has been inclement today I decided to fix the barn to the base and start blending it in.

Cheers,,

A big thanks to John and Jerry…sounds like a Hanna-Barbera cartoon, …for their kind words, :slightly_smiling_face:.

Hi all,

A quick update, :slightly_smiling_face:.

I’ve added some strands of ivy tumbling through some of the gaps in the roof.

It still needs some work to get it to drape/hang more naturally.

I’ve also decided to add part of an abandoned foxhole/trench constructed by the Germans to fortify the barn.

I’ve only blocked in the colour, so more paint-work needed. i also need to see if I can find a set of 1/72nd scale German weapons (no figures) to dress the area up with…any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, :slightly_smiling_face:.

I’ve started to add the grass, once the glue has dried it will be trimmed so that i’s closer to the length seen along the bottom of the barn walls.

Cheers,,

Beautiful G !!!

I found one, but it seems only to be available in Ukraine… Dunno if these traders are in business or not:

That is all looking outstanding G… Hanging ivy through roof gaps very clever and super realistic once you get the hang right the way you want it.
Little bunker is a nice idea … A little fortified area to watch over the bridge and ford :+1:.
Steps going down are very nicely done as well… You really are knocking this one out the park :+1::+1::ok_hand:

You could always just get a box of German Infantry in 1/72 and trim off all the Germans… is probably about the same price as a weapon set :grinning:

You’re going all out with this one G. Ground effects look stunning. Flowers are a nice touch and give it a nice burst of colour. Great stuff mate :+1:

As John said: those flowers are a fantastic addition… As for the camouflage netting: the more I look at them, the less I like them. Somehow they look too coarse. I’d leave them off, if I were you…

My apologies to everyone above for not expressing my thanks for your kind words, but I’ve been out of action for the last few weeks due to family bereavements.

Please accept my belated thanks for all your feedback, :slightly_smiling_face:.

Hi all,

First chance to make some small progress for the last few weeks. This basically means finally setting the bridge in place and applying the first depth of ‘water’ to the deepest part and to the small falls.

Not really visible at the moment are the three Milliput fish…not sure what species, but they ended up looking more like porpoise than trout, .

The slightly pinkish hue will disappear once the fluid has cured, as will the slightly cloudy appearance noticeable in the deeper ‘water’.

I need to add some vegetation and debris in and around the waterfall before the next few layers of water are added. To this end I’ve started making my own grass tufts by blitzing offcuts of teddy bear fur and sticking them in blobs of white glue.

Cheers,,
