Centurions: Fist of the Empire

Nice work Mead. Did you notice that the mesh in all the pictures is square mesh, not the diagonal type you used? (Duck, weave, dodge…)

Then well done to Amusing Hobby…

I can now sleep easy

Yeah I did after I put it in sadly :frowning: I think I’ll leave it as I had to super glue the framing in. And removing it from the fragile frame will be a pain

Also looks like amusing put the frame around the mesh… sad afv club didn’t. I think I did an okay job, but not perfectly happy with the styrene frame

That looks just fine to me.

I think the frame you fabricated is a nice touch and attention to detail :+1:

Thank you, appreciate it!

Weirdly enough Amusing Hobby added the frame to the mesh but on the AVRE I’m building it shouldn’t be there. The good point is that unlike many manufacturers the PE plate is not the same in the Shot and the British Centurion.
Keep on the good job on those Shots.

Hi Everyone
So for the campaign having a clear out of some centurion stuff. After I have had my eye surgery on my left eye on Tuesday I be starting the builds .

Build 1 Shot Kal but not as the kit but as a Mk 3 turret version based on mk 3 kit plus sprue from a Shot cal 73 from a friend plus my sprue L.

Build 2 Danish dozer or Gun tank made up of all the spares I have depends which one I build still a lot to change to build a Danish Centurion. Dozer blade I have choice of Accurate armour parts, AFV or Amusing from the AVRE kit I dumped.

Build 3 Gimel or Dalet this kit has mk3 and mk5 turrets plus all Gimel 1 &2 parts but only enough to build one version with ERA . Complete with scratch built late Isreal front Idler wheels

extras you can see I am having a clear out etch brass, track got loads , gun mantels got loads, new stowage . Accurate Armour fire extinguishers for shot Kal,Gimel,Danish

still need to get Israel aerials and marking for Shot Kal.

I also have the Centurion books by Dr Robert Manasherob as well as loads more centurion books .

Good lord Ossie… that’s quite the war chest you’ve dipped into!

Hope your surgery goes well. I’m really looking forward to your builds

Cant wait to see the builds. Doesn’t the Gimel include enough decals so as to use some on the Shot Kal?

Hi I just checked there possible is enough raised etch plates and black number plates but none for a Dalet I think I decide when I get to that stage .

Wow Ossie you’re making a group build of your own.
I’m impatient to see your Centurions. I built a Danish one some years ago. Lots of details to add indeed.

Got the sides on now. The RH track guard was sitting slightly low with a tiny warp, so glued a thin strip of plasticard under it hence the clamp. It won’t be seen as the side skirts will cover it.

I was a bit unsure of these 2 resin grills, I mean they look nice so it’s ok for that, but I just can’t fathom why they bothered. They could easily have just done the engine decks as one, as to be honest, the 2 small resin inserts are no better detailed than the plastic bits.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things it’s not worth worrying about is it.

Whole things going together well though.

Because then you can call it a “multi-media” kit and it sounds cooler and looks impressive in the sales description.

Those are there because on later variants there were cast exhaust shrouds protruding through the vents. They way the kit is designed they can offer those parts for a different model.
