Cheers mate, very kind of you … a lot more work had to go into this one, but thats cupola No 3 built – 2 CVRT and this one.
16 hours for the cradle is what I call a test of patience
For real how does the ammo can stay in the holder?
Olivier
The ammo box (opened) would clip under the tensioned curved part in the upper red circle (the box mount is angled slightly upwards and to the rear which assists with the loaded ammo box seating and keeping it in place)
from the web for ref only.
And the small square section in the lower red circle if i remember correctly was slighty raised and springy which pushes up against the bottom of the ammo box
Absolutely love the whole MG mount John. Incredible attention to detail.
Coming along really nicely…I di like a bit of scratch building
Thanks Terry and Barny, much appreciated chaps
Thank you for the explanation!
Olivier
Surgery! What else can you call it? Thought you said you were a tank driver, not an Army Med…
Definitely inspiring
Driver, loader and Commander …
Thanks for looking in and the kind words. Peoples interest keeps the motivation going …
I do love it when the white stuff comes out.
Russ, that can be read in so many wrong ways lol … But glad you checked in
That’s what I thought - but have been too convulsed with laughter to reply on here! Oh my God - simply priceless!
Here in Holland a remark like that is often followed by the answer “thats what my wife said as well lastnight”
That’s what she said!
Ok, let’s get this back onto Chieftain work lol.…
Going to start on the Comd sight guard and spotlight.
The PE guard is to thin, so I have cut a few bits off that and added to the kit one. The real guard has a slight raised front section, so I cut the top away from the PE and used that to give you the lip
Also got the bits ready to do the spotlight handle and securing wheel.
And the drivers hatch securing lug and hasp.
And searchlight handle done
And drilled out rod for connecting point for cable
And the PE locking wheel… I guarantee that will pop off and get lost before the finish…
Well all this shows what I could attempt on my Mk5! But I’m not!
Top work mate👍
HaHa … dont blame you mate … keep your eyesight and your sanity !!
We’ll keep a lookout for it, since it’s bound to launch the distance!
