I just found out that Commander Models went out of business. I hadn’t heard anything about that. Does anyone know if someone bought the masters? They have 2 kits i really wanted but never got.
Yeah - I deduced that when I discovered their site was down recently.
‘Glad I got my MBT-70s when I did(!)
Apparently bought by Squadron.
Cool!
Even if my stash is way too large …
Interesting, never brought anything from Commander or know what their product line looked like but have purchased several ships from Iron Shipwrights. The ships are great starting points but needed AM parts to replace the finer details from my experience.
I may have to investigate their range now but watch that postage across the pond.
indeed, way too expensive
Their MBT-70 was sublime - in my opinion of course - but partly as it was the only game in town - and sort of still is. I can’t remember if it was my first resin kit or not - that might have been the Retrokits M75 - but anyway, a bit of work and one had to find some AFV Club tracks, but not only did I more or less enjoy the build, but got the result I was after (ie as if in service):
Ah yes, the Retrokit M75. I have one partly done. Much sanding and hacking of the body shell has happened to try and get things looking a bit better. I have some AFV club tracks for that. Must get that one finished. I’m sure I’ve seen yours (Belgian?) at some show.
Talking of early US APC’s I’ve even got a resin/3D printed M59. So many models, not enough time!
Yes! Beautiful model. Need to get mine sorted.
To my shame Terry I’ve had the M59 for over a year and have done nothing about it, despite protesting to the high heavens for years that there wasn’t one(!) - ditto my 2 x HS 30s. Sigh
and one other thing which I need to get around to …
Which Robin - the M75, the M59, the HS 30 or all three? You’re still in good company mind!
I was thinking about a certain clergyman who needs to go travelling soon
I see what you did there!
I do however, have some Friuls waiting for it.
Sort of south for the winter as it were?
Southwest
Neither, to my great chagrin I’m afraid …
Excellent looking model Brian !
