Some work on the front and back winches, finished the camo and weathered the crane deck.
Hopefully bumper codes and finish the winch cable tomorrow.

Fantastic job, I love how this one looks like !!
That’s coming along nicely!
great build you are making every recovery guy proud
Realized the crane’s cable, at .55mm was too big for the task. So the appropriate .45mm was ordered. Arrived today and the base colour applied. The bigger cable is ± OK for the rear winch and I got the white background panels the for bumper codes in place.
Onwards!
Re-rigged the crane and rear winch with the correct diameter cable and scratched a 3/4” clevis for the winch. Had to use individual letters for the bumper codes -horrible job!
IRL painting those numbers often comes out crooked. I think yours look just fine.

I’m here with the Henschel 33D. I have to finish the cab interior so I can assemble and attach and then I can start on the cargo bed, which has quite a few punch-out marks to deal with.
Wild. Last night I decided to resurrect one of my shelf queens. I chose my Revell Henschel 33D. LOL!
I last touched this in 2021. I’ve lost the two drive shafts and fan along the way. Scratch time.

Yep, it could have been a last-minute Friday you don’t go home until this is done task so it will be less than perfect, I’ve had to redo many bumper numbers on a Monday after the soldier messed them up.
Agreed but this one’s out in the field, meaning it was missed. I can imagine some SM having an absolute sh%t fit over it and some poor Motor Pool Sgt. really getting revved!
I’m going to try making the codes on my printer, as reactivating and moving them in such close proximity would be helluva difficult for me.
Just a side question on this topic does anybody make and good stencils for bumper numbers for modern us military I would pay good money for those.
I have only seen one stencil out there for 1/35. I never bought it because it would be such a PITA to use on parts so small.
There are decals out there that are number and letter sets that are not nearly as much of a PITA in my opinion.

Got a product name, supplier?
1/35th is my size so I second the request for a manufacturer
I had them out for my M577. Give me a few to look in my decals box. I’ll edit this post when I find them.
Mike
ECHELON D356237 Pretty sure I got them from eBay.
I wonder if one the smart guys with the laser cutter set up could make a stencil kit out of some PE blanks
There are guys that post on here, that use a Cricut machine to make stencils. (Maybe you can make make new friends with people in a local craft group
)
Them’s the ones I was using!
ETA I planted the codes reasonably straight on the front bumper, but grouping them together on the bumperettes at the back was too much for my fumble fingers.
