Convoy!

Great progress, guys!

My participant(Bulgarian Magirus S330 truck) is on hold for several months now- it stalled because I couldn’t find a way to represent the inscriptions on its doors and then got sidelined by several Pz.IV projects, hot weather, holidays and the sommer lull in modelling.

Last weekend, at the expense of a nice Cuban cigar, I found a solution for the inscriptions.

In other words- I’ll get back to the Magirus after Sofia Scale Model Show, in 3 weeks time!

Cheers,
Angel

There’s a “basic”-looking Ford from Wespe Models

Original hubcaps are too big.
Test fit on a wheel. (The left one)
and updated road wheels with new hubcaps made with a rim part of the VBL Tiger Model and a rounded metal wire in the middle.

Comparison with a picture of the truck.

Done (or not?). I think the next Russian wheeled vehicle I do, and I have several, I need to try making it muddy. Dusty/dirty is okay, but something different is needed on my end. So, the little Gaz and trailer are finished for this build.

Back to the watertruck, after the red and green added a layer of varnish, let that dry a long time, than a layer of hairspray and a top coat…

and than again with a wet brush…

Bert, Mike-awesome job on your participants!

I received the preview of my Magirus S330 decals and approved them

Should receive them(2 pieces) in a couple of weeks.

I somehow knew a good Cuban cigar will make the difference

Back to the truck… got more paint on it, put the cabine and watertank onto the chassis, added decals… and put wheels under it… so it needs some sand and dust now…

Added rust, dirt, sand an dust to the truck, and am calling this one finished… thanks for the nice campaign and good luck to the last builders!

Lovely build Bert. Some nice methods to get that hard used look, which could easily happen in real life. :+1:

Excellent tanker you got there! Reminds me I need to step on the “loud” pedal with my build!

Great job Bert. It certainly looks like it has been well used.
