Cowboy Chuck Wagon 1/12 scale wood and metal kit by model trailways

Thanks for all the positive and helpful comments there Gentleman, I’m gathering 1/12 scale pieces together for the Chuck wagon, I purchased this laundry lot off e bay for the large tin tub, the clothes wash posser, the wash board and the mangle probably won’t be used, as their place in a wild west scene may not be right, what do you all think? I’ve found a Winchester lever rifle, now I need to make some bed rolls, maybe a saddle.

Really enjoying this - I may try one myself one day .
How about some canned goods - find some images on the internet and print labels out to size or have decals made . A box of cartridges for the Winchester would be nice as well . Do you know which model it is ?
If your wagon is in Bison territory you may need Gov’t. 45-70 .

Fantastic work.
A mix of items might be interesting to put in the back. Maybe the washboard too? Even a cowboy has to wash his clothes some time!

Great stuff! This is coming together beautifully and finding those period pieces would be an engaging exercise in its own right!

Love it, superb crafting & result - did I miss the part about a (rolled up?) weather tarp? Firewood? :tumbler_glass:

firewood, yes, collected on the trail and placed in a possum hide.

oh yes, great idea, it’s a 73 Win in “Thuty Thuty”, that idea about the labels, spot on.

I’m dyin’ to show this to my neighbor, who’s name happens to be “Chuck.” And yes, he’s a cowboy who’s been bucked off a few times in his day! :horse:

I ordered this on e bay from a seller in France, turns out to be a small carbine rather than a full power rifle, probably chambered for .38 pistol cartridge, great for rabbits, but for Cherokee on the warpath?
carbine a
measures in at 75mm butt plate to muzzle crown, bearing in mind it should be 1/12th scale.

flour sacks easy enough to fabricate, the barrels are turned wood and need a lot of work, including plasticard styrene sheet hoops and a top.

Looks to be hammerless as well … quick draw ? LOL
Might be a fun scratch build - I’d go for 1886 in .45 - 70 in case any woolly horned creatures escape from the back of a nickel and charge your camp …

Ive ordered a 12 bore hammergun, a Brittania miniatures 1/12 scale pewter model. Looks a little like an old Damascus Barrelled gun I once owned, I’ll have to paint the barrels red brown to be just like it.
britannia shotgun
it’s imaginatively sculped broken, ready to take some fresh cartridges. So thats labels for a box of 12 gauge and .38 special I have to make up.

Yea, don’t try and talk like a “cowpoke”. It is a fake Hollywood created dialect.
