The weathering worked well for you.
“I think you will become a modeler”
Congratulations!
Will there be something like that, … scratch, etc.
Kind regards!
Kalin
Thanks Kalin!
I hope I’ll become a modeller one day!
Till that day comes, I’ll keep trying and will enjoy the interaction with this great worldwide community!
Cheers,
Angel
Yes, Angel, admirable of you, you should keep trying - maybe start with a simple kit or two before you try some of these more complex projects - As always, beautiful work - nice to see this wrapped up!
Nick
The only thing I can do is to strictly follow the advice of a scratchbuilding/conversion guru like you, Nick!
Glad you dropped by and thanks for your praising words, mate!
Cheers,
Angel
Amazing work Angel! A truly unique and interesting subject done with consummate skill.
This is a really outstanding work Angel, not only for the conversion but the amount of research and detail involved. Congratulations!
Is the white line across the hood an homage to Mediterranean theater Luftwaffe marking? It looks like there is also a white marking on the left front fender. My computer will not enlarge it into recognition. What is it? Does the vehicle merit a WH or a WL license plate? It really a glorious creation. So glad you shared the process with us or I would have not recognized many of the details you scratch built. Thanks for you magnificent work.
Jack
Colin, Carlos and Jack- thanks for the kind words gentlemen!
I really appreciate them!
Cheers,
Angel
The marking on he left fron fender is a white WH marking.
Your usual incredibly work. King of the scratch builders/conversions.
Just glad I don’t have to compete against you.
Jack,
The white line across the hood is an aerial recognition mark for DAK vehicles(seen here on a DAK Sd.Kfz. 6/3 “Diana”):
The marking on the left fender-as Erwin @golikell already mentioned is white WH one.It was frequently painted on trophy vehicles, lacking German license plates.
I’ve seen no license plate on the vehicle, pictured on both photographs I found, so I cannot say whether it belonged to Luftwaffe or Heer. Hope other pictures will show up some day and will bring some answers to these questions.
Once again thanks for your kind feedback!
Cheers,
Angel
Thanks for your praising words, DV!
The King of scratch builders/conversions @Stickframe dropped a line earlier today…
Cheers,
Angel
Can’t really see that happening… But keep trying Angel… You never know lol
So, almost an year later I finally found time to build the dio base for the Windwagen.
I used some desert sand from Dubai and some desert pebbles from Sinai, no paints, pigments, washes e.t.c.
D.A.K. Windwagen scored Silver Medal in C11: Wheeled military vehicles 1/48, 1/35 at the Sofia Scale Model Show held last weekend:
Cheers,
Angel
Great to see you back Angel, and what a superb base for it, even better with real natural elements from that part of the world. The windy looks great on it and we’ll done with a silver for it… I would bumped it up to gold mate
I wonder what won the gold medal then…, but i think is already great!
Thanks for your kind words John and Floris!
Not much bench time for me this year, but I’m glad I finished my Windwagen.
There were 2 Golden, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze awards in the C11 category(model ranking defined by points given by judges, thus more than one award).
Plenty of stunning models, with Golden medals awarded to a Minerva Armoured Car and a Zundapp KS 750:
Cheers,
Angel
The fairest of all judging systems, IMHO…
Congrats on the award and on completing the model
Thanks Erwin!
Cheers,
Angel
Personal pieve here but it is sad that the HobbyBoss SWB CCKW placed ahead of you.
The fenders and hood on all the HB’s are too long and the cab is squashed to make up the difference, plus the windshield is at the wrong angle.
