Elephant SDKFZ 184 Tank Destroyer

Here we go then … All finished… A decent kit, had a few minor issues but nothing that wasn’t easy to fix. Main paints were AK RC all a 50/50 mix with cellulose thinner and some lacquer retarder thrown in…
Detail paint was Tamiya with the washes etc from AK or AMMO.

Hope you like it …

John, the Elefant looks fantastic and very appealing! I especially like your attention to detail, the reflection on the optic is so sweet!

Thanks Brian @BootsDMS — I am an advocate of using antennas - especially on the more modern builds, but I simply left it off this time as there is plenty of imagery out there showing Ferdinand’s and Elephants without one fitted …

Bert @bwilt - again, thanks mate for checking in on the build and enjoying it.

Nik @flatfour - thanks for the comments - the FUBAR with the wash turned out to be a bonus as I actually like the damage and how it turned out - its something I was not going to do initially - so win win :+1:

Wade, always great to have comments from you with all the sterling work you do - the optics stood out a bit when I was looking at them, and it was a very easy fix… a sliver of clear sprue cut to shape, face of the plastic optic painted silver, clear part added and then painted a thinned Tamiya smoke — glad you noticed it !!

Fair enough John - just me being a pedantic tw*t (!)

Not at all mate … I am a firm believer in adding antennas to wagons - in most cases, it can add that final realistic touch.

Another outstanding job John. Nice tight build, the camo looks just right for Kursk, that damage looks spot on, the tow cables are nicely shaded, and the chipping is restrained but noticeable. Great model!
