Or…“Hey Sarge, which were the practice grenades…?”
Another sentence from General George S. Patton, I have used in communication with 2 of my(over the years) superiors:
“Lead me, follow me or get the f…k out of my way!”

I like pork fried rice. I do not understand the humor in this. Insider joke?
It seems to me many of the quotes offered above all sum into the most common of last words, which are simply, “Oh S**t.”
The variation of this theme would be, “Huh, that wasn’t supposed to happen”.
Which reminds me of one final (yes the other quotes are without a doubt very final) quote;
“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”
-George Bernard Shaw
the last words my father said to me just before he died: “Careful son, that gun’s loaded” (bad taste joke i know but it’s better than the other quote i know)
“What the f*ck was that!” the Mayor of Hiroshima.
A favourite of my dad’s was always King Harold’s last words ‘If he’s not careful with that bow and arrow he’ll have someone’s eye out.’
Two against one! We’ve bloody well got you now Bismarck! Captain, H.M.S. Hood, 1941.

"December 22, 1944
To the German Commander,
N U T S !

Following that quote, one of 6 months before, June 6th 1944
Col Max F. Schneider: ‘Rangers, lead the way’
Yes, but by another General: this one was by Norman D. “Dutch” Cota. While the Nuts one was aired by General McAuliffe…
probably slightly off topic, but i’m looking forward to the upcoming oppenheimer movie. christopher nolan does have a track record of making a good movie! “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds”.
“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.”
Marcus Aurelius
Last words: “Adiuva me, confossus a Joaquin Phoenix…”
(“Help, I’ve been shanked by Joaquin Phoenix…”)
Cheers,

“Don’t forget that you’re First Marines! Not all the Communists in hell can overrun you!”
(Puller’s 1st Marine Division destroyed ~7 Chinese Divisions in Korea.)
“We make generals today on the basis of their ability to write a damned letter. Those kinds of men can’t get us ready for war.”
Per Lt. Gen. Lewis “Chesty” Puller, Marine Corps icon who’s known for his quotable quotes nearly as much as his battlefield accomplishments.
Hmmm…still very relevant - unfortunately!
“Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.” Patton.
