Hi mates,

I am starting to build this fantastic car driven by Ken Miles at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966

Rod,
I’ve been waiting for this kit to show up at any of my online retailers, but so far it’s been a no go. The kit is literally a giant step forward from the Fujimi kits and now the rebox by Revell. Where did you buy the kit if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ll be following your build extremely closely for sure.

joel

Hi Joel,
i placed a pre-order to Ak Interactive in April 21 … at the moment the kit seems to be available .

Rod

Rod,
Thanks. I’m checking it out in a few.

joel

Looks like a great kit. Will be looking forward to seeing it build.

Jesper,
I have a few friends on my racing forum that opted to build the old 1/12 Trumpeter kit over the new 1/12 Meng kit as the Meng kit has way more accuracy issues yet it’s more then 10 years newer. My concern is that their 1/124 scale kit is a simplified scaled down version. And as I said, those CAD drawing look fantastic, but that much detail in a 1/124 scale kit is really hard to believe. Only time will tell, and I’m hoping that I’m completely wrong as I have all the Fujimi GT40 kits in my stash on hold waiting for the Meng kit to make it’s grand entrance.

joel

that looks great, especially for me who doesn’t want to pay $400 for it’s big brother. Wish they’d do a Chapparal next.

Bill,
Me too !!

Great start! Really nice details there Rod!

Cheers, D

Looks really nice so far Mr Fixer, nice and clean! The two plenums at the chassis rear cross member, are those brake cooling ducts?

Cajun :crocodile:

Rod
Great start to a kit that I’ve been looking forward to. the front suspension is nicely detailed, is there any brake ducting still to be added as the CAD drawings showed?
joel

Looks pretty good Rod.

Rod,
You’re making excellent progress for sure. The engine/transaxle looks right at home in the rear of the chassis.

Both rear storage bins look darn good with the oil and assorted road grime on the inner sides.

I’ve heard that the kit doesn’t include the spare tire, does your kit have one?

joel

Man this is just beautiful!!! I gotta get me one of these kits!!!

Nice! :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:

Looks awesome.
